I want to eject Have Cruzer Titanium 2.0 USB memory plugged into computer. No programs or files from it are currently in use. After clicking on Safely Remove hardware, the message Problem Ejecting USB Mass storage Device "The device "Generic Volume" cannot be stopped right now. Try stopping the device again later. However, repeated clicking on Safely Remove hardware continues to give the same message.

Make sure you have all programs and folders closed. Then try stopping usb mass storage, there should be more then one option so try removing the drive itself on the list. If that doesn't work. I myself would probably just restart the computer. Then try again.
Thanks,

Testimonial: "Thanks for the help! Closing all application programs indicated ejection was now safe. Howerver, after removing the USB stick the computer crashed."

Hi, I had noticed your testimonial. The crashing my be indicative of a completely other problem with your system. It may just even be a one time thing. Computers can be tricky to say the least. If your still having any issues or have any other questions let me know. Glad you got it removed safely though.
    Thanks again,
    Lee

Short answer: shut down the computer and you can safely remove it.

Longer answer: If this is a "U3 SmartDrive" then you need to eject it using the U3 dashboard, not the standard Windows ejector.

In either case, shutting down will release whatever lock is on the device.

Computer not recogniing my cruzer mircro 2 gb

You didn't' say which operating system you are using. Any current version of Windows (XP, Vista, 7) should be able to load a driver and not need a download for it. In any event, you can find the driver you need on the SanDisk website here:

I have a Sandisk Cruzer 8GB pendrive. I was copying files halfway until a message pops out telling me that my drive is not there. i ejected and reinserted the pendrive, but I couldn't delete any files...

Right click my computer and click on manage. In disk management try to reformat as another solution for your usb storage drive. Try another usb port on your computer as well when you reinsert it and restart the computer. Usually when a usb device turns off and doesn't show up like yours did the device could be faulty or the usb port you have it connected to or for laptops sometimes the usb ports turn off if only using battery instead of ac adapter. There are power save modes for usb ports so have to check that in device manager as well. Good luck!

How do you save files on a sandisk cruzer flash drive?

Insert the cruzer into the usb port. You should see a message pop up and say new hardware found and then flash off. It may also say usb memory or storage device or even recognize it as the cruzor. This recognition process is fairly quick say 5-10 seconds. After that the computer knows what the cruzer is and its ready for use.

The cruzer is now seen as another drive or storage drive on your computer. Your hard drive is usually C , the CD/DVD would be D drive and the cruzer would be seen as E. If you are in a program and want to save to the cruzer you open the file/save and you should see E drive or Cruzer if not click on my computer and look for it there. Once you find it just click on it and then hit save/ok. Thats all there is to using one. Once you know how to find it as a save option or a loading option then you just treat it like a hard drive.

Once you get it sorted out you will use it a lot. They are very handy.

Any time i try to eject a combo comes up with the message that the flash drive has a program running even though all file are closed. how do i get arround the problem.

Cruzer's run a program when they install and should appear on the screen as a red Cruzer icon. If you click on this when you want to remove the you can then select the Eject tab on the bottom of the Cruzer popup. Use this rather than the windows eject which does not work too well.

Cannot get my USB memory stick to install on XP

I have a sandisk cruzer, titanium 512mb. Model: SDCZ3 512 I have used this to store massive amounts of data that I frequently need to access. Recently, when I plugged the device into my computer's USB, I received the following message: "USB Device Not Recognized" After double clicking on this message, I got the USB Root Hub. The last item on the tree stated: "Unknown Device." I double-clicked on the unknown device, and in the Device Status box, received the following message: "No Drivers installed for this device. If you are having problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter." I attempted to troubleshoot, but the device remains unrecognized. How can I access the data I have stored on this device? I have even tried to install the drivers automatically, but it would not istall succesfully.

xolani.
