I've heard that the lines on the screen is common. I can see a bunch of lines and color, but nothing else. The camera button does not help, as I have commonly heard it does. I have a few texts and I just want to freaking read them, any help?

Try to rotate the web camera lens adjustment knob. It controls the images quality of the camera. It is located in the front face of the cam. But if nothing happens right then take your camera back from the store you bought it.
I had this problem a lot on Labtops. The problem is that it has been unliquifed in the screen. This means that the screen has been damaged or has got really hot. Also its has been on for along time. LCDs go bad real quick and can be a hassle when you need the infomation in the thing and have no display. When I had this problem on my labtop, I used the external bay to use another monitor so I can work on it. So I say that nothing can be done to fix it. The only way to see your stuff on there is to use the video out on the recorder and try to check your stuff. That multicolor lines you saw is becoming major right now in LCD displays. I hope this solves your problem.
