How to turn on hp WEbcam that is built in

Hi

Fix for HP Pavilion DV6000 with built in camera. I got a solution. Works with XP and VISTA OS.

Download HP's Pavilion Webcam Driver: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp34501-35000/sp34746.exe and restart your computer again.

If not able to download the driver then try the below link.

Everyone's talking about how their's a built-in-webcam in our hp pavillion dv6000's laptop? is this true? if so, how do i get it to work? thanks!

Some DV6000 have web cams other's don't. It all depends on the model you have and if there is actually one in the housing. I have seen people who have DV6000 that did not come with one, change out the lid with one that did have a camera and just plug in the camera plug and download the camera software and it will fire right up. If your dv6000 has a camera, go to the HP website...here... http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

Put your units model number in the box and choose to go to the driver page. The web cams on DV6000 use the Cyberlink Youcam software and drivers for activation, and will work on most messengers and they also come with tutorials to guide you through the process.

My in-built webcam is not working if i want to take pictures but

Your laptop uses Cyberlink's Youcam for it software and it is a free download from the HP Support Drivers page. It is a free download for HP users, all you have to do is fill out the model number of your laptop and click on the support drivers tab and all the drivers for that model will appear, scroll down to webcam and look for the webcam driver, you can also do a search on the support page for Cyberlink Youcam and the download will appear, it will just ask you for your model number. Good luck, Parrothead PC repair

Im trying to figure out how to turn on my webcam on my HP dv7-1130 laptop

Ensure your driver suite is installed.
The start > All programs > HP > Webcam I think...
or go on Windows Live and you should see a picture of a webcam by your Display Picture.
I use a PS2 eyetoy.. Microphone built in as well ;-)
Good luck.

Cant turn my built in webcam on??

Hi,

This is known Webcam issue in DV6000 notebooks. To resolve or narrow down the issue, we have to check few things.

First open Device Manager.

Please follow these steps to open Device Manager:

1. Right Click on 'My Computer' icon on Desktop and choose Properties.
2. The System properties Window opens.
3. Click Hardware tab and then click the Device Manager button.

Expand + Imagining Devices and check if the HP Webcam is listed under it.

If Webcam is not listed there, then you have to contact HP to get the BIOS update.

If it is listed there, right click on it and select Disable. Again right click on it and select Enable.

Now open any applications like Quickplay and check if Webcam is working or not.

Please reply me if that won't resolve the issue, I can provide more work arounds

Image issue

Sounds like the Inverter Board (a small circuit board which decodes the image to be displayed prior to displaying it) is faulty. This is NOT a user serviceable issue, it would need to be sent back to HP. If it's still under warranty they will send UPS to your door and pay all the shipping, if not get them to quote in advance. Either way, it's a problem you can't solve yourself.
