Just turn off your refrigerator and detached the thermostat control (temperature control), you can do that just by using some cross screw drivers, at the back ot that thermostat control is a part number where you can buy on the service center or any refrigerator parts supplier, just give them the model and the part number and they will give you exactly the same piece, then just put it back again the same way how you take it off. then turn on your refrigerator..

Take NOTE: if you are taking some parts of your appliances (any parts) just all remeber this..

The first thing you take out will be the last thing you will put back...

My amana 26 side by side refrigerator/freezer keeps running and everything is freezing. i have tried to turn it down with no help

1x1.gif How To Replace the Temperature Control Remove the temperature control dial or housing. Pull the dial straight away from the wall. Remove the temperature control. If there is a housing over the control, it either snaps into place or is held in place with screws. Remove the screws, or gently depress the retaining clips with a small screwdriver. Allow the housing to hang by its wiring.
Before replacing the control, unplug the refrigerator to avoid an electrical shock hazard.
The control is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the control before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the switch with slip-on connectors. Firmly pull the connector (do not pull on the wire) off of the control's terminal. You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.
The temperature control also has a temperature probe permanently attached. Follow the path of the probe and remove any fasteners that hold it in place.
Carefully replace the temperature probe along the same path as it was originally installed. Avoid any unnecessary bending, and do not bend it into a sharp angle as this can damage the probe. Connect the wires to the new temperature control. Replace the switch and housing (if any) and press the knob onto the the control's hub. Adjust the control to a midway setting. Plug in the refrigerator. After one to two hours check the temperature.

You have a problem with the cold control.

Remove the temperature control dial or housing. Pull the dial straight away from the wall. Remove the temperature control. Allow the housing to hang by its wiring.

Firmly pull the connector (do not pull on the wire) off of the control's terminal. You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Carefully replace the temperature probe along the same path as it was originally installed. Avoid any unnecessary bending, and do not bend it into a sharp angle as this can damage the probe. Hi,
I have seen this problem on similar units and one of two problems are usually the culprit.
1- too much freon -
2- broken rod or piston on the compressor

Just thought I would share this just in case you over looked it. 8bbb0eb.jpg

Heater/AC control no longer allows change in temperature

You have one of two possible problems.

1) The temperature shaft retention nut is loose behind the knob

2.) The wires to the potentiometer part of the temperature may be broken.

Either one is common to this vehicle. The replacement of the AC controller is about 900 dollars. If the wires are broken, they can easily be reattached to the circuit board via soldering. What you would have to do is remove the control box from the dash, and disassemble it. Once the unit is apart, there are 3 wires from the temp knob to the circuit board that need to be re-soldered. The unit CAN be repaired, as opposed to the expense of replacing it.
