Drum stopped spinning - Belt has come off - Wheel/drum stiff, no rotation. How to Fixya? Hotpoint IPX4 - 1669200001 - Grateful for any help / advice *********** - Cheers

You can do the repairs yourself, however be aware if the fact, the shroud surrounding the drum was stamped out from a sheet of metal and it has extremely SHARP edges that can slice your had or wrist wide open. Safety First. You must remove the rear panel and expose the back of the drum. Remove the spent belt and stretch a new one over the pulley wheels. Rest the drum shaft into the rotational collar on the back panel and fasten all screws tight in place.

My dryer won't spin and is squeeling

It sounds like either the belt is loose or the drum is frozen. Try the following links to see if they help.

Why does belt keep coming off when spinning?

Sadly, this is almost certainly drum bearings worn out and the drum spins off centre, causing the belt to come adrift (I'm guessing your spin cycle has become significantly noisier recently). Worse news I'm afraid, the IWC6125 uses a sealed, non serviceable drum, so this is really an uneconomical repair that will cost around 60%-75% of the cost of the machine when new

Heat is blowing out but the drum is not spining

You broughtke the belt of drum wont turn you might take the dryer apart to make sure the idler pulley is spinning free also. They sometimes get tight and burn the belt up.

My ge wpsf4170 top load washer agitator spins but the drum itself stays stationary.

If the drum spins but the agitator doesn't agitate then its the dog(lil arm things) that grab the agitator ridges to work. If the drum doesn't spin at all its the belt under the drum. it's either broke the belt or has worn and slipped off or the drum was way off balance and kicked it off(belt) . way cheaper to fix either than buy new and most new ones have no agitator anymore so how does it clean better? In my opinion, they don't so I get the parts online at repair clinic and do it my self. Sorry Maytag Repair man. But I saved a lot

if the drum has a belt conneting the pully on the drum to the pully on the motor it is worth repairing you just have to replace the belt.

Drum bearing noisy on spin

Remove the drum drive belt, and spin the drum by hand.
If it is noisy, or feels rough, then the main drum bearings have failed.
This a major repair.
Hope this helps.

The drum won't spin or agitate the cause is the belt slipping off

There is a mechanical alignment problem beyond your ability to fix. Get a repair Tech and pay for a service call.

Wm noisy

drum bearings, check and investigate, remove drive belt and then rotate, if still noisy then yes its the drum bearings, if the noise stops when the belt removed the motor bearings are faulty costly repair on most models, sorry oh there is also the possibility there is something lodged within the drum cavity between the lining and the drum casing
