I have the same model radio as DOG2500 thousands of Sirius lifetime subscribers have only 3 radios and then your lifetime is canceled. My first radio has now broken I need to find someone to repair this unit... I can"t believe I"ve yet to find a repair shop for the 1 million or so customers who bought the lifetime subscriptions at three radios each and they breakdown on an average of two years that's allot of business.

I am having problems with my Sportster purchased in 2005. It suddenly fluctuates from "Aquiring Signal" to an actual display with no sound, then sound.

I can actually position the unit a certain way in the docking station and it will get signal - leading me to believe that my antennae connection on the actual unit has been "tweaked" somehow. Now that I have diagnosed the problem - I just need someone to "tweak" it back. I also have the lifetime plan and would rather pay $75 to get this one fixed than burn up 1 of my 3 limited activations. I am in the Seattle area ----any suggestions?

I have a Sirius Model XTR1 that suddenly has displayed acquirin signal after two years of use -- any suggestions

After a year, now all I can get is the

"acquiring signal" message. I have remove the antenna and retrace the connection back to the receiver. The next step is for me to replace the antenna to see if this works. The radio works fine on the "Boombox" so I know it isn't the receiver.

I might be having the same problem with my JVC. I was getting "acquiring signal" a lot, and I thought it was because of all the cloud cover we've been having but the clouds cleared and I was still getting it. Now the "bars" show that I am getting a signal but there's no sound.

I have a streamer model siirus radio and I went to move it to another location and the power outlet either fell out or went inside the radio. Is it an easy fix that I can do myself or where is the nearest repair service? Thanks

The dispaley states "aquiring antenna" but never finds it,can this be fixed?

Yes. However, it depends on what is causing the acquiring signal message. It could be that you just have to replace the dock or antenna. But it could also mean the unit is going bad, in which case it would need to be repaired. has a repair guy, though with that unit being discontinued for as long as it has, he may not have parts. You may have to search around for a replacement on amazon or ebay.

I have a sirius starmate st2 and it goes on but won't stay on and just turns itself off. Is there any way to repair this?

Your power jack needs to be replaced. You can buy a repair service on eBay. You'll need a new power jack if you'd like to repair it yourself, which you'd need to take from another radio.

Radio shows antenna not deteted or acquiring signal but does not work . antenna and all connections are good, ??

The problem is likely the actual connection inside the Starmate. It sounds like you have tried alternate antennas, which can only mean the unit itself has an issue. What has likely happened is the antenna jack inside the radio has come loose and is no longer making a connection, in which case it could be repairable. Otherwise there are plenty of other 12v Sirius receivers compatible with the same connections if you are looking to replace the head unit.

More than likely the antenna connection has jogged loose somehow, and just needs to be soldered. The person who handles all of our repairs at TSS Radio does this often, and I'm sure could tell you specifics. His email is

Check your antenna wire to see if it is spliced or cut. If you do not recognize a problem still you can usually get very good help from calling Sirius. They have been good about trouble-shooting and repairs.

Bad news my friend. That model isn't supported anymore. Sirius is pretty good about replacing the radio for free and discounting the accessories. You will get one for free. The docks are reasonably priced. The boombox you might be able to get a discount for. The new docks are more designed for multiple units should this happen in the future to you again (like Stratus radios).

There isn't much to service on the radios. If the board is dead it isn't worth fixing. It's cheaper for Sirius to replace it.
