Question about Canon PIXMA MP830 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Open Question

Canon MP830 6A00 Error. Took the unit apart. Cleaned the purge unit. Still didn't work. Was able to manually rotate a gear on the purge unit which allowed it to move through its' cycle. Initially had to wind the gear backward and then forward to complete the cycle because it stopped turning forward after each phase of the cycle. After multiple times going through the cycle this way, It appeared to turn continuously in one direction without stopping and I was able to have the unit go through a complete cycle without jamming. After test runs appeared to work, I reassembled the printer, but the 6A00 error returned and the purge gear it sticking as it did earlier.

The error refers to a purge motor failure. Which could explain why the printer is saying that you do not have enough ink. You can solve this error code by removing the purge unit. You have to replace the purge unit with a new one.

Canon MP830 Purge unit sticking

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

I have a printer MP620, and get a error 6A80 need help.

6A80 can be either a sheet feeder error or a purge unit error, either can be caused by paper scraps or other debris caught inside. You need to inspect closely with a flashlight and remove any scraps, beyond that you may need a shop to take apart and replace gears or even a purge assembly.

Canon printer mp 510 error 5010

That is a purge system error, either you need a new purge assembly or there is a paper scrap caught in there stopping it. The purge unit is on the right where the printhead parks at shutdown and where the printhead is cleaned.

CANON i860 PRINTER - ERROR SIGNALS

hi i am a certified Canon tech for a repair shop on the east coast of the united states. by what u are describing the problem seem to be with the purge unit that it is not spining to release the carridge unit. this could be due to something stuck in the purge unit or in its gears. if you take the top cover off the machine on the right side is the purge unit towards the back of the unit is a white release that has to be pushed down inorder to move the carridge unit. once that is released you can look into the purge and check for things jammed in the gears or obstructing the up and down operation of the purge pad and the back and forth operation of the wiper assy. if everything looks normal the purge unit most likely is still at fault and can be purched for 30-40 dollars plus shipping.
