Question about HP LaserJet 3050 All-In-One Printer

2 Answers

The display says "No Print Cartridge". But there is indeed a print cartridge in the device ... a brand new print cartridge. This happened after a print jam.

How can I continue working with the device if its not printing?

  • mattwelch408 Sep 08, 2009

My HP LaserJet 3050 has an error message that says "no printer cartridge". This is obviously an error since there is indeed a printer cartridge in the device . . . a brand new printer cartridge. I had a paper jam that started this problem, but I cleared out all the trays and restarted the device many times. I"m still getting the error message and I'm unable to print.

Hi,

The unit may have a paper jam or stuck object inside, if you have experience a paper jam error before, check the printer for any object or paper stuck inside, clean roller.

Some error like this can be a problem on the feeder sensor and by this time you may need to replace and repair the unit.

Hope this initial info helps

See this does not stop the printer from printing.

From experience...I contacted HP and I was told that after a while it clears from the memory but in as much as the printer does not go off the power supply for enough time like 2 weeks, the error message retains in its memory.

Take it easy on the printer and continue use till it goes back to normal automatically.

Cheers and remember to rate this advice.

I got 3 months ago message on hp officejet j4580 display: Print cartridge problem: [Tri-Colour]. Refer to device documentation to troubleshoot. Today while printing a document, i noticed printing with...

You must be using HP60.
Have you refill your cartridge at all?

If you did, gentely wipe out the cartridge circuit part with Q-tip (with bit of alcohol).
And wipe out the circuit part in the printer where cartridge goes in as well.

And try back.
Sometimes by having some dust or bit of ink make cartridge unreadable.

If you used brand new, do same thing to cartridge circuit part.
Otherwise, there got to be some circuit shot happen in printer.

For your reference, HP4580 is pretty new model and has not cause major problem.
Good practical and durability is good.

If you would like to save money, try refill kit by "ROADINK".

Not only they are easy, but also the printing quality is good.
For your better understanding pls check out my youtube video.
And will see how easy ink refill can be done.

My hp officejet 5610xi all in one showing cartridge error-refer to device documentation to troubleshoot.i changed an new cartridge still showing the same message.please help me to solve this problem.

If you are not using a HP print cartridge, try pulling out the one you put in, clean the contacts in the print carriage, and put in a different print cartridge - even if it is the same brand as the brand new one you just took out. I just solved the same problem with this method. I think the new black cartridge from Office Depot was defective. Once I cleaned the contacts on the machine and put in a new one, it worked!

Won't work after installing new ink cartridges

This can happen to cartridges with attached print heads such as HP, Lexmark or Dell. All cartridges are weighed and tested before leaving the factory so lack of ink isn't the problem. It usually has to do with the print head of the cartridge not having any ink to feed it. This happens because cartridges are kept flat or upside down for weeks or months before being used and the ink settles away from the print head. The easiest remedy is to open the box and stand the cartridge upright for a few minutes before using. Then get a damp paper towel, fold it into quarters and sit the cartridge print head down onto it. Hold the cartridge down to the damp paper towel for three minutes. This will help pull the ink out of the print heads, priming them and getting them ready to print. Finally, install the cartridge into your printer and print a few test pages.

Lexmark x80 wont print colour new cartridge

On your printer, there is a clean print head adjustment,it is in your menus on the printer itself, It should also be on your print driver in properties. I would try running that up to 5 times before proceding to anything else.
Check and be sure the cartridge expiration date is not exceded. The liquid ink cartridges have an expiration dates. Even though the cartridge is new, Do not rule out a bad or for some reason dryed out cartridge or blocked port at the bottom. If it is indeed brand new and you have the receipt, I honetsly would suspect the cartridge itself.
Ok now, we tried the print head cleaning, and a second cartridge.
Next, I would remove the cartridge, turn the printer off and lightly, very lightly dampn a dusfree cloth with some alcohol, and where the cartridge is located, clean those contacts. reinsert the cartridge and see what happens.
Lastly, you can unplug the printer, remove the cartridges, and place a paper towel under the area where the cardtidge latches in, and dribble in a soapy cleaner, like fantastic, because those inks will dry out in the ports and not allow the ink to flow properly, If you do that, wipe all the excess cleaner up and leave the printer off for an hour or two to allow any remaining liquid to evaporate. Don't use a lot, but trickle it in until you see the ink start to wash out and all the ink is removed.
Take your time, and go from easiest to more difficult. I think that is the process I presented.
