Question about KitchenAid Kitchen Ranges

I have a KitchenAid Gas range model YKGSC 308LS0. My display gives me an error message F2:E1. I would like to know what this error means and how do I get it fixed.

First I changed my control panel, when the error persisted I changed my keypad. It fixed the problem, no more F2:E1. However, when I touch bake and then start. it gives me an F1:E3 error which has something to do with the jumper. My new control panel came without a jumper, so I assumed I had to take the jumper from my old control panel. If I try it without the jumper, I don't get any error but my temp. changes from 350 to 8. Can you help me with this jumper problem?

I have a jumper problem. I've changed my control panel and since it didn't have a jumper I used the one from my old control panel. Now I get an error F1:E3, should my new control panel have come with it's own jumper, or how can I fix this problem?

That means keyboard error. The problem could be the keyboard, the control board, or the cable. You can try hitting "cancel" key and see if the error would go away. I doubt it would though.

F1:E3 means the cavity size of your jumper setting does not match the stored setting in the control panel. You can either put the old controller back, which is probably still good, or reprogram your new panel by following this instruction:

    1. Unplug or Cut the power to the unit for 10 seconds.
    2. Reconnect the power
    3. Press "OFF", "OFF", "Start" to enter diag mode.
    4. Press "6" to enter cavity size select screen, and select the correct size.
    5. Press "Start" to clear the last error.

Please be forewarned that the diag mode is for trained technicians. Nobody but yourself is responsible for any damages if the unit is improperly configured. Good luck.

Hi,
Actually F2E1 is the cancel key problem. The tech sheet suggests cleaning the touchpad surface. It looks like the pads themselves are part of the console. I assume you've cleaned the underside as well.
Hope this helps
Thanks
Smith.

Hi, I have Kitchenaid gas stove. the control panel shows the error code F2/E1.. What should I do to fix that?

Most of your F2 errors on stoves has to do with a stuck key. Use a hair dryer or a hot dish towel to warm up the keypad to loosen up that stuck key.

Kitchenaid gas range keeps beeping intermittantly, oven turns on by itself and code F2:E1 keeps comiong up on pad. What is the problem

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F2-E1 in your Kitchen Aid range indicates shorted keypad. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced however, if the rating is fine then it is the Electronic Range Control (ERC) that has gone bad & should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

F2 E1 - Cancel key invalid on Kitchenaid range

F2 E1 Cancel key. Cancel key invalid. Needs surface cleaning.
this is what the tech sheet says. But I am sure you did this. This type of failure looks to me that the glass control user interface needs replace. There is a 5% chance that is the control board. But very unlikely. let me know if you need help. Part 9754350CB

I have a KitchenAid model YKGSC 308LS0 with a display messagw F2:E1.Iwas told by a previous expert to turn off the power for a few minutes and it might reset. If it didn't I would have to buy a new control...

Here is the code fault you have:

1. Check keypad connector for firm connection (keypad connects to control board).
2. Press CANCEL. If error code returns after 60 seconds, replace keypad (also called touch pad or membrane switch). Some models incorporate keypad in to control board as one unit. In this case, replace control board (also called ERC or clock).

WP Touchpad does not work.

The error code of F2 and E1 on your gas range is indicating a keypad failure or an Electronic Range Control (ERC) board failure. The ribbon connector on the keypad could be damaged or shorted. One of the buttons could be stuck or shorted on the keypad. There is a good possibility of a failed (ERC) board as well.
I recommend having a service technician come out and diagnose which part failed and repair your range.

F2:E0 is shorted keypad, and F2:E1 is no keypad connection, you need to replace the keypad.

You can find schematics and find replacements by entering model number here.

E1 and f5 error/Door locked

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

F2:E1

This has happens to us regularly. Today when it happened I unplugged the oven and let the it cool hoping that would help. It didn't. I did that several times over a couple of hours to no avail. When it powers up, there are a sequence of different readings on the screen before the error code comes up. In my final effort, just before the code F2:E1 appeared, and it read PF, I quickly turned on the oven and that interrupted the sequence. It is now working. Lucky. I hope this helps someone.
