I lost all my files. It said the hard disk is full on the screen. The camcorder does not function correctly. It freezes up on every other command I make. I cannot down load or do anything to make it work. I have files of our newborn which i would like to save. Does anyone know if there is a way to retreive these files from the hard disk?

Hi, John. First things first - do not take more photos and do not save anything back to the camera memory card. Then connect it to your PC. Pick a digital camera recovery (recover photos, video, music files) to make a free scan and recover the deleted photos. Regards

In this case you should try some video recovery software to rescue the lost videos from your camera, here are some programs you may rely on. Both programs can also recover photos and music.

Photo Video Recovery (for Windows)
Mac Photo Video Recovery (for Mac OS X)

Note: Before your videos are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the camera memory card in case the original files(your videos) are overwritten.

Based on your description, your problem could be resolve in these three ways:
1). Try to unhide these files.
According to your description, your files may be hidden anyway. Try to show them all up again:
Start => Run => Type in "control folders" and press "OK" =>Click "View" and hook "Show hidden files and folders"=> Press "OK"
2). Scan your computer with antivirus tool
Sometimes, the virus also would hide the files make them invisible for you. So, just try to do antivirus scan on your computer. (You should take care not to delete some needed files in the process.)
3). Restore your files back by using an external hard drive data recovery freeware.
This problem also could be caused by the drive problems. So, if you want to save these files, you'd better try to use an external hard drive data recovery freeware that always could help retrieve the inaccessible files back for free:

What can I do to rescue wanted data from formatted memory card?

Hi Christina
This is why we make a backup file!
There is a possibility that only the file allocation directory has been erased. Leaving the data intact. (computers erase the index & leave the book) Depends on the Phone manufacturers type of erase.
You will have to have an adapter that allows the memory card to plug in to the USB port on a computer. Then there are utility programs available to copy or backup or recover the files.
You would probably be better off dropping into a computer shop with good technicians that have these recovery utilities.
You won't forget to do a backup every month from now on Eh!

Good Luck
Cheers
Trevor

The hard disk's file system is corrupted and will

Be sure to folleow these instructions to the letter, you could damage your PS32_bing.gif if you choose the wrong option! I do not take any responsibility! Please proceed at your own risk! If you read and follow the instructions exactly you should not loose any data! Feel free to ask questions if you are confused so you don’t make a mistake!! Sorry, I had to say it, I don’t want anyone mad at me if they make a mistake, don’t back up their data and erase it, and then blame me…

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The current version of the ps3 firmware has a “recovery console”.
You access it by

1. Start with having the system in standby (redlight is on)

2. Hold the power button down; the system will turn on and turn off once again.

3. Press and hold the power button again and keep holding, it will beep as it turns on and then it will double beep. When you hear the double beeps immediately take your finger off the power button (if your system turns off before you get a double beep just try again and hold the button, it should double beep the 2nd time you try)

4. You will be prompted to plug in your controller via USB and then hit the PS button

You will now have a screen with these options

1. Restart System: Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.
2. Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.

CHOOSE THIS ONE 3.Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
4. Rebuild Database: Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.
5. Restore PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
6. System Update: Update the PLAYSTATION®3 System

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT CHOOSE THE WRONG OPTION HERE OR YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA. The one that fixed my blu-ray drive is option 3: RESTORE FILE SYSTEM

I REPEAT CHOOSE RESTORE FILE SYSTEM

After this, it is going to restart and bring up a screen reading something like “you have Corrupted System Data. Your PS will now replace this data” Then you choose continue and that should be it.

This option reinstalls the system files and drivers inside the PS3 with the original ones that are stored on your hard drive. In this case, it replaced a corrupted driver for the blu ray drive thus fixing my issue and hopefully yours!! This option will only replace all system files thus saving you from loosing any data that’s stored on your hard drive. Again this option does nothing to your hard drive it reads a file from the drive and rewrites it to the PS3 system.

Here is a video of the recovery screen.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0SPmkV-jco

If you want a more technical understanding of what this is really doing continue reading. DO NOT NEED TO READ THIS TO COMPLETE REPAIR. The PS3 does not boot from your hard drive as a computer does. It has a flash memory like a cell phone that stores all system files and system firmware updates that you get when the PS3 updates. This is why reformatting your hard drive will not fix your problem, none of the system files are stored on your hard drive (ex. XMB, system firmware, etc.) nor do they run from the drive. However, your hard drive does contain a full backup of your SYSTEM files and thus when you choose option 3: RESTORE FILE SYSTEM it rewrites the original system files from your drive (which aren’t corrupted) back to the flash

JVC Envirio GZ-MG21U Error Msg.

I had the same issue, but I went ahead and executed the recovery and my videos were still there. I thought I had lost one but it was actually saved/loaded to another image file in the camera which is the same one that the Demo playback file is stored in. I located it by connecting the camera to the PC going under my computer and just opening every file. After I got everything off the camera I went into the menu and executed the data clean up program. I am now scanning internet sites to see if there is a fix listed anywhere to keep it from happening again. Hope this helps.

Redemption backup - restore not working

I found the solution. You have to go to their website http://www.techsupportlive.com/ and intsall the update (Redemption_Upgrade_15A.exe) which was posted on April 10th, 2008.

I did that, and it fixed the issue. Oh, after you install the update, use Tools menu to repair and manage your stores as necessary.

Here is the full blurb from their website: Problem: “Invalid file” and “No items were selected” message’s displayed when I perform Restore (Full restore, File restore and Find files restore). How to avoid or over come this problem?

Solution: This kind of problem occurs when the drive letter of the HD partition changes it can be resolved either by changing the existing drive letter of HD part to the original letter or by upgrading to the latest version as available in the techsupportlive.com and perform the Repair Catalog operation.
