Sir, First of all, you turn off your refigerator for about 6 to 8 hours. After that please turn on and put the regulator of your refrigerator to the lowest part. if the problem again arrises than you need to replace the regulator. the proper name of regulator is "thermostart".

Icing up

I've just had a similar problem. I fixed it by removing the large panel on the back of the inside of the freezer. I found a large build up of ice at the bottom of the freezer which seems to have developed because the drain hole at the bottom of the freezer was blocked. I defrosted the ice, cleared the drain and now the freezer is working fine.

How do you keep ice from accumulating in top freezer?

Make sure doors are sealed properly. Any leak will cause the freezer to keep running which is why the ice builds up in the freezer. Hope I have helped.

Freezer model EV171NYMS04 we have ice build up on

There is a drain the back of the freezer that is frozen. Your trickle of water comes from the ice that melts off of the refrigeration coils during the defrost cycle. You need to turn off the freezer, then remove the rear cover from the back wall to expose the coils. With a hair dryer, melt all of the ice. You will find a drain under the coils. Melts all of the ice in this drain so water can get out of the freezer. When this drain is clear, you can put everything back together, and your freezer should work normally.

Freezer keeps thawing. There was an ice build up.

Check the "flap" in the door where the ice is released. If it has come undone it will thaw the ice in the maker and into the freezer...

Ice build up on coil inside freezer

it can be two things the refrgerator probably has a small refrigerant leak therefore it ices up, or the defrosting heater on the begining of the coil is faulty.

Refrigerator

If the ice build up is only on the back panel of the freezer then you have a defrost problem. Most likely a defrost thermostat or control board/timer. If frost build up is around the walls of the freezer then warm air is getting into the freezer. Most likely cause of this would be gaps in or torn door gasket or door alignment. In some cases the door was left cracked open. If gasket and door alignment is ok remove the frost and see if it comes back.
