Need a heatsink that will fit MSI 870-G45 Motherboard (Model # MS-7599). CPU is AMD Phenom II X4.

Hi,

You can find heatsinks at the following link, you will need one that is compatible with
AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD motherboards

If you look through each product, it will show you compatibility or you can filter search results.

Amd athlon heatsink

Hi,
If you don't install the heat sink and fan carefully you could blow out your processor. Make sure you clean all the old heat sink paste from the processor and the heat sink. Then apply a thin layer of paste like "arctic silver" on the heat sink so that it makes full contact with the processor. I think you have a socket A processor...so do a google search for "installing a socket A processor" and you should have all the info you need. Good Luck...Hank

Motherboard 8kra2+

This motherboard uses a style called Socket A. Socket A has 453 pins, so yes it will work with the processor you are wanting to use with this motherboard. Also, this is an AMD board, so getting an Intel CPU won't work, must get a AMD processor with this machine. Hope this helps!

3 year old laptop computer with motherboard fan failure; can this be repaired?

the fan can be replaced, but it should be done by a tech as it requires experience in opening the case and installing the fan properly. don't try it yourself. the damage you can cause may be worse than the cost of a tech.
