Question about NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router

Limited or no connectivity

Hi My laptop is toshiba centrinoThe router is Netgear Wireless G router WGR614V9.Now my laptop wireless is detecting the network with full range but when I try connecting to it, it says limited or no connectivity. Can you please help me out?Thank You

It is dhcp server issue.
For that connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1

type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
then go to advanced and enable dhcp .
Then save settings and then restart .
Also you can set ip addrese manualy but make sure it is in range with router.

If your wireless security key is incorrect u'll get this message and if the router is beyond 40 feet u may get this error.

Soln:

1.Change the security key by entering into the router page.
2.Ensure ur laptop is within the range(40ft)

Hi, don't worry, plz call your Internet Service Provider. They will solve your limited connectivity problem . your internet link is always updown, so router can't receive your internet connection. Plz contact your Internet service provider.

It's most likely that you router itself is not connected to the Internet. Check:
-- If it's a new router, whether your ISP supports this router or not, or whether the ISP needs to record your router's MAC address.
OR -- Your computer may be configured to "Obtain IP address automatically" but you might need to set a static IP address address for it. Best is to consult the router directory, or call your ISP.

1.Log into router
2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off)
3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.

Try changing/playing with the Channels. Try changing the type of wireless security used too.

Our wireless net work comes up but we cant connect to it why?we have a wireless g wgr614v9 router and we cant log on to it with the passphrase


The Netgear router needs the wireless settings configured i.e SSID, WPA encryption etc and the wireless card in the laptop/computer needs to be configured with the router's wireless settings for the laptop/computer to connect with the Netgear wireless router. Does anyone know if my netgear WGR614v9 can handle an ADSL+2 connection?


Hi,

Please note that the router WGR614v7 is a cable dsl router and will never handle ADSL connection. For ADSL connnection you need to purchase router model number DG834Gv5.

Trying to connect netgear wgr614v9 router to new toshiba computer with windows 7 ....setup says unsupported operating system....what do I do


As netgear setup disc doesnot support Win 7.
U need to manually setup the netgear product

-- hard resett the router using a restore factory setting hole on the back of the router
-- open the netgear router page using www.routerlogin.com
-- Username - admin , Password - password
-- run setup wizard
-- if it detects dynamic ip then press next
-- and on the left u will see wireless settings under setup .
-- secure the network using WPA_PSK(TKIP)
-- and then apply .

In case if it will detect static or fixed ip .
Then click on " Basic settings "
-- Under router MAC address
-- select "use computers MAC adress "
-- Apply
-- And then Powercycle the network..
-- And u will be able to go online ..

Hi!

Try these:

1. Go to CONTROL PANEL > MANAGE WIRELESS NETWORKS
2. Remove all the preferred networks
3. Restart your laptop
4. Reconnect to your network
