I can't access onekey recovery option after resize of c drive to 40gb please help me

When u resize your drive you hidden recovery file has been deleted....

Start it up in Safe Mode by pressing F8 as it boots up. Normally that will repair the corrupt file. When fully loaded press start and close the laptop.

I think i know what happened. Windows Upgrade Advisor by the name itself it means that there has to be an older version present on teh system to be UPGRADED. Have you tried installing WIN7 with OKR v6.0 then downloading OKR v7.0 try not uninstalling the OKR v6.0

Advent 7113 laptop very slow would like to return it to factory settings but dont know how help


After researching all the information online, I have put up the maximum possible detailed steps to help you out:

Your Advent computer uses the latest recovery system that doesn't require any CDs or DVDs to restore your PC to it's original factory condition.

1) Restart your Computer.
2) Press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting System Recovery" is displayed.
3)
The recovery will load and display a menu of options:

(a)
Non-destructive recovery: this option will restore Windows, supplied applications, and drivers. This option will not destroy your documents or programs. These will be backed up along with the registry. These are restored at the end of the recovery process.

To access the recovery options below that erase all data from the computer, click the Advanced button.

(b)
System Recovery - No format: this will reinstall Windows®, supplied applications and drivers. It will move your files to a folder called "My old disk structure". Any applications (except those supplied) will need to be reinstalled.

(c)
System Recovery - Quick format: this option will erase your hard drive including your personal files. Windows, supplied applications and drivers will be reinstalled.

4)
Select the Non-destructive recovery option and press Next.
5)
You will be informed about System Restore in Windows, click Yes.
6)
The recovery will begin. Once this is complete click Restart.


Here are some additional information:

a) Press the ALT and D keys at the Windows style recovery menu options to access a command prompt. This will allow access to C: drive.

b) The command prompt will default to c:\minint\system32 where you can run a variety of tools including CHKDSK.EXE.

For more information on these options, please read the Advent recovery trouble-shooter.

Advent recovery trouble-shooter:

If a user is experiencing recovery problems on an Advent PC, then try to follow these steps.

Note: These steps will remove all personal data and all applications installed after the PC was purchased. Where possible ensure that all data and personal files are backed up BEFORE trying these destructive diagnostic steps.

1)
Check the integrity of the recovery CD, or the update CD.
2)
It is possible to verify the integrity of the recovery CD, or the update CD from within the Recovery programme.

a)
Boot from the recovery C.
b)
At the ‘Press R to display system recovery options’, press ‘R’.
c)
Once in the System Recovery screen, press ALT + D to access the WinPE command prompt.
d)
Type in Xcopy D:\*.* /E /V C:\ and press Enter.
e)
D:\ is the CD ROM drive letter
C:\ is the HDD
/E copies everything
/V verifies the data with a CRC check
.
f) If there is an error with the CD, then you will get the message:

File creation error – Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

g) If there are no errors, then you will be left at a prompt again.

If Windows® is accessible, then boot from the recovery CD.
4)
At the ‘Press R to display system recovery options’, press ‘R’.
5)
Once in the System Recovery screen, press ALT + D to access the WinPE command prompt as below:

Type COPYSI and hit Enter. This will unhide the user's smartimage (this may take a few minutes to complete).
7)
Return to Windows® & copy the contents of the C:\Update CD\ folder to CD (N.B. Do not copy the ‘Update CD’ folder itself). Ask the user to label this ‘UPDATE CD’.
8)
Start with the recovery CD ROM in the CD drive.
9)
At the ‘Press R to display system recovery options’, press CTRL + BACKSPACE to get the hidden menu as below:

Choose option:4 (Clear the partition table of drive 0x80). Once you have selcted this, you will be returned to the Press 'R' screen.
11)
Choose option:5 (Erase the Master Boot Record of drive 0x80). Once you have selcted this, you will be returned to the Press 'R' screen.
12)
Choose option:7 (Create a primary partition on drive 0x80). Do not restart the machine during this process. Option 7 may sit for up to 10 minutes with a flashing cursor as it creates the partition. If the HDD LED is flashing, then you know that the process is proceeding.
13)
Once the HDD partition has been created you will be returned to the ‘Press R to display system recovery options’ screen. Press ‘R’.
14)
The recovery should go straight into a full destructive recovery, and will ask for the update CD which we have created.

I can't get the recovery disk on my acer apire m5641 to run. computer crashed and there's no more windows vista


a lot of acers have a seperate hard drive with recovry on it have you tried to see if the recovry is on there if not you would go to acer website and eneter your serial number and order new recovery disk get back to me

I am using lenovo y410 when i repartition c drive from there onwards i can't use onekey recovery option.so,any one please tell me how i can use this option.....................


When you repartitioned you basically erased the onekey services as they were in a seperate partition on the c drive. You would need a system restore disc in order to reinstall the service on your computer. Sorry.

My lenovo onekey recovery not working?


Hi All,

I am new to to the community. I recently bought a lenovo G series machine( G550 model #298595Q preloaded with Windows vista and 320 GB HDD) . surprisingly The C: drive contained 254 GB of the total available 284 GB and D: drive had the remaining space. I wanted to inistall linux, I had to partition the C:drive and no where in the lenovo mannual it is warned against the resizing C:)

I used a partition software called "paragon" to resize my C: drive. My system hanged while running the process and after a long wait I had to shutdown my system and after that my OS was not loading.So I decided to recover my vista using one key recovery. I tried the back up I stored in D: drive and in DVD and it is giving an error message that "not enough space in the system" and in the one key recovery menu the target location of the one key recovery is showing to D: drive but my preloaded vista was installed in C: drive and also it is showing the total free space as 298 GB)

Could any one help me to get my vista back.( why the target location of one key recovery is showing to D:)
or is there any way to increase the D: partition from boot setup). Please help me.

and also my warranty is valid , since I touched my C: drive( no where it is warned against that)?

Sounds like either 1) bad disk or 2) bad motherboard. Replacing the harddrive and restoring using the restore cd is valid and will work as long as the disk is as large or larger than your current harddisk - Fortunately it is also the cheaper of the two options.

You may lose access to the free space on a larger harddisk as the restore cd may restore the old partition information as well as the data.
