Wow!!If you live in alaska is diff. to florida. The usual in warm weather is;Choke/half on,1/4 throttle.2 pulls..Should start.Make sure before you do all this, the fuel bulb is totally primed. The motor is born to run at 50/1 fuel mix.If you changed the carby mixture, dont run the motor untill its set back to standard. It may do some damage. The oil is there to lube the pistons etc.the carb mixtures dont often need to be touched. Before you do spend dollars, try a different fuel lead that does prime up the fuel.Be it a friends or the local shop. They should help.Hope this may help

Outboard engine hard to start.

Press the key inwards to activate the Choke. Also, you only pump the bulb when the tank runs dry. Pumping after a successful run, shutdown, pump and restart can flood the engine.

If that doesn't work, claim under the warranty.

manual, which oddly, doesn't mention a choke feature.

I bought used and saw it start on the first pull before I decided to get it. Since I have been home I cant get it to turn over. I dont have a manual and may be missing a step.

1st clean your plug becauuse if you have been trying to start it and it didnt it may be fouled. remove the plug and wiire brush the electrode then wipe clean. if there was wet fuel on it that isnt a bad thing-black oily caked on stuff would be. Now close the choke turn the switch on put it on the ground and with your foot on the handle pull the rope.
good luck.

Can not find my manual for the mantis tiller..forgot hot to start it up for the first time

You should be able to go to the Mantis web site and download the owners manual. To start, make sure the switch in turned on, push the fuel primer bulb several times (until you feel resistance), pull the choke out all the way and pull the starter rope until it fires. Then, push the choke half way in and it should start. Let it run a 30 seconds to 1 minute and then push the choke all the way in. Be sure you are using the currect fuel/oil mixture with fresh gas and oil. If you have not done so already clean the air filter and replace the spark plug at the recommended interval.

I have the Morrison BC 260B S2 Weed Trimmer but I don't have any instrucions for its use. I need to know what the mix of 2-Stroke petrol is and its general operation. This is not mine and the owner doesn't...

I have one of these. The mix is 25 to 1. Before starting use the primer bulb to get fuel through; it says to turn the choke to limit the flow, but I've found mine starts easier with the choke open. To start, flick to on/start position, hold the (safety switch?) flush with the spine, and give it a yank.

Does a 1985 60hp merc have a choke to help start it or how do I go about doing this yes Im a new boat owner of this kind anyways :)

its on the ignition key ! as you turn it on to first position you then push the key in then as it starts let go and with the control lever on a slight high tickover you mite have to dab the choke a couple of times till it ticks over ! dont over choke or you will flood the plugs ! less is best and just let it warm up before setting off !

I own a mccullogh 610 pro mac chainsaw left by the previous owner of our house. Unfortunately, there is no user manual. I am not familiar with chainsaws and am having trouble starting it. I put in a new...

You do know a chain saw is a 2-cycle engine and requires a mixture of Fuel and 2-cycle oil? This saw is probably 40:1 (1 gallon of premium fuel to 3.2 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil).
My procedure is better than the one in your manual anyway. LOL
Start Procedure
Cold:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws); pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls; no more than 4)
  4. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  5. Push (open) choke pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull)
Warm:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws) – Do not pull with choke closed.
  4. Push (open) choke, pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull)

I need to know the procedure in starting a Coleman Generator 5500/6875 11.0 hp Tecumseh. I just purchased it and the previous owner lost the manual for instructions. Please help me. Dolly

I'm not familiar with this particular generator but starting most of these is pretty much the same.

Turn all switches to the generator OFF locate the Carbuerator and put the choke on if it has a small bulb pump it a few times, now here is a trick I use I buy a can of starter fluid and spray a quick spray close to the air intake or air filter. This should work.
