This could be several things, some of which may mean your machine will have to be repaired by a Brother agent (probably cost you more than a new one), and/or it's time to bin it. However, sometimes it's just because the print head, or the pipes that connect the ink tanks to the print head, have become blocked with dried out ink. If you search on YouTube, you will find a few videos that show how to clear such blockages - you may not find your exact model number, but many Brother machines use almost identical components to many others so the basic technique will be the same. Also search on Ebay for printer cleaning/head blockage kits - quite a few printers (not just Brother) suffer similar problems and a few businesses have sprung up on EBay that sell kits to help you sort this. They sometimes have links to a video they have produced showing how to use the kit which can give you ideas. Again, your exact model number or even make might not come up but these kits might be adaptable to your machine. Got to be worth a tenner or so before binning it ! Good luck
The process to get to the print head will take you approx. 1 hour. Without being trained on it, there is a high failure rate upon completion.
The Scanner assembly needs to be taken off. Harness Cables for the Scanner need to be removed. The Upper Case Assembly needs to be taken off. Printhead casing and printhead tubing calbes need to be removed, printhead mainboard needs to be removed, and then you have access to the printhead.
Hello! I need help! My Brother printer - DCP-135C I've changed all inks include the colours. I able to print the Red, blue and yellow. But I can't print the Black. I've tried pressed the cleaning option for many times.. Please advise some help.
What you have to do is flush the head externally, then get an eye droper remove the plastic spout ,now you will only have the rubber resivoir. squese the rubber and place over the print head . when you release the rubber your creating a vacume wich will draw out the dried ink. repeat about 5 times on the entire head then flush with cartridge flush .....pretty messy so have lots of tissue paper and gloves.
reasemle head and case run the cleaning process 3 times and you will be smiling.
ps make sure you have lots of ink in your cartridge or you will have to redo the process again.....good luck
All Brother printer have this problem with the red ink.
