What to do when an 8022c wall thermostat screen goes blank - no numbers, just the lines dividing the three areas? Pushing reset does nothing.

Pop the cover off and check the battery. Replace if necessary. If it still doesn't work trip the main breaker for the ac unit off wait 1 minute and turn back on. If it still does not work then you have a more technical proble. Could be a bad thermostat or control board in the ac unit.

I have a whirlpool built in oven. Model RBD275PDQ8. The display (control panel) went blank 2 months ago. I reset the breaker, nothing. Pushed buttons, it just beeps. 3 days later I pushed the upper oven...

it's the control panel behind that touchpad item. and it's not too difficult, just time consuming. My recommend is to grab a service manual online(usually around 20.00) which will provide good step by step, and also parts list.

spares? well, that's a good question. Until you have that part number, and the best way is to eyeball the one that's in side your unit(no offense to the printers, but mistakes can happen with manuals).

then you'll find out what it's like to be truly handy, eh?

I walked across my carpet to reset the temperature on my Totaline P/N P474-1050 thermostat. When I touched the thermosat, there was an arc of electricity. The screen went blank and does not respond to any...

There are two options for this. You can try turing all the power off the the unit completely. The inside and outside unit and give it 30 seconds and turn it back on. This may reset it. Chances are you just burned it up. I hate this for you...
Hope it helps.

Thermostat display suddenly went blank today. We haven't lost any power and we checked to make sure there wasn't a fuse blown. We can't get the heat or the fan to come on at all.

Check the control board in your unit. There's a fuse on it. Either a small glass "buss" style or a flat blade style, like you find in a car.

Honeywell Thermostat won't turn on

There is a small automotive type of fuse in your air handler (not thermostat), check that. Also check to see if the Emergency Switch somehow got turned off (Usually found in stairwell or closet).

Blank screen sounds like a fried thermosat. Abrupt outages can affect certain types of thermostats. Make a jumper wire and jump across R and G. See if you get any action from anywhere. If a fan or compressor kicks in you know you have a burned out thermosat...
