Question about Shure ULX1 Microphone

1 Answer

I have 2 ulx1 microphone transmitters that won't go into set up mode. The power is fine and the display lights up, but is blank. The power light stays red. This happened to both Mics in about the same time last week. The users told me they left them on and the batteries drained. Can this cause an issue like I described and is there a reset of some kind?

We've seen this issue when using rechargeable batteries that go above 9 volts. Make certain your batteries are not over 9 volts.

Shure ulx1 pack red power light will not turn green. Pack display does not show any status messages.

Please make certain the battery is good. Put a voltmeter on the battery to make certain it is above 7.5 volts.

If the battery does measure above 7.5 volts, then then transmitter will need to be sent to Shure for repairs.

I suggest sending the unit to Shure for repairs. The battery indicator is controlled by the micro. Thus, it needs to looked at by a service center that has access to the micro code.

I cannot get my transmitter out of the master list mode. I tried holding the set button down for 10 seconds but the display still reads E000. How can I reset it?

When you press the MODE button, does the display say "FR L"? That means you have the transmitter frequency locked. Instructions on the Frequency Lock are in the User Guide.

Shure ULX1 wireless body pack has good battery but Batt light(red) is on and no channel display or output but backlight is lit. Any suggestions

Remove the battery and leave it out for a couple minutes to see if that helps. Also, check the battery with a volt meter to make certain it is above 8.5 volts. I have seen entire cases of batteries that are defective. If the battery checks to be above 8.5 volts and you have removed the battery for over two minutes, then send the bodypack in to Shure Service (www.shure.com/service)

I have a shure ULX-1m1 transmitter with full battery but will not work. screen comes up green nothing on the display and the battery light is red, what could this be? and how do I fix it

First, sometimes LCD screens have an intesity/angle control and at extreme range of these characters are sometimes not visible. Check you manual to see if your unit might have such a setting.

Also this unit has some control lockouts so make sure it is unlocked so the automatic frequency selection can be made.

Verify the status of the LED in your manual. MANY Shure mics display the LED red when battery is low.

DO NOT trust a battery as being full because it is new.

ALSO DO NOT USE rechargeable batteries in these as the rechargeable battery does NOT produce 9 volts... usually only 7.2 volts (in spite of the labeling) which is insufficient and will give a low battery indication.

Shure Wireless Mike no Output

Check the battery with a volt meter. If the battery measures lower than 8 volts on a volt meter, replace the battery. I have seen entire cases of brand new batteries that are defective. Make certain to check it with a volt meter. If the battery tests fine, then send the bodypack to Shure for repairs. www.shure.com/service
