This is an example of a Y-splitter cable for a 4-pin Molex connector, (4-pin Molex connector is also referred to as a Peripheral power cable),

There is a 4-pin Audio port on the back of the Lite On LH-20A1H burner.
Looking at the back, start at the Left side. It is the third port from the left.

This shows the Audio connection,

If by a power ribbon you are referring to a SATA Cable (looks like an L): your power supply should have a connector. If not you may have to get an adapter for the 4 pin cables coming from your power supply. If you are referring to the older style IDE Drives - the 4 pin cable from your power supply should plug right into the back of it. I have attached a picture of an adapter with both 4 pin and SATA to help you determine which product you need. find-power-ribbon-cd-plaher-sewtjkcgvfb0ell3gg1ws00g-3-1.jpg

Install sata disk

From what I was able to find it looks like the board is set for IDE Interface connections for the hard drives. But you can make it accept SATA Drives by adapters that plug into the Power Supply cables that go into the hard drive.

I'll show some links below that will show you the adapters you will need.

The link below shows the Cable that would plug into one of the power supply cables and go into the SATA Drive to give it SATA Interface.

The link below shows you the cable you need that will supply the Power to the Sata Drive. It too plugs into one of the cables that come out of the Power Supply and goes into the Sata Drive.

What cable do i need to hook up samsung ts-h663b 22x dvdrw sata to dell dimension 2400

You are going to need more than a cable to connect a SATA drive to the Dell Dimension 2400's motherboard. The motherboard only supports IDE devices.

Assuming the original power supply, you need either a SATA controller PCI card (and an available slot) and a 4 pin device to 15 pin SATA power converter (like this: or an IDE to SATA data connector (like this: )

The IDE to SATA data connectors come in a couple of types. Some plug into the 40 pin connector on the motherboard (and you will need a power adapter); others plug into the SATA drive and usually accept the 4 pin device power connector.

I hope this helps.

(If you have upgraded the power supply to one with SATA power connectors, then you do not need the power adapter.)

What wires beside the sata hook to the hard drive and I changed the ac/dc cased power supply and it has one les set of wires than the origanal that could posible hook to the hard drive.

well you have the sata cable. It connects to the motherboard. You also have the power cable from the power supply that connects to the drive. As for 1 less set of wires on the power supply. Not a big deal unless you need it. Does the power supply have the same or higher output wattage as the one you replaced? Does it have sata power or just the molex 4 pin only? If it has the 4 pin only you can get an adapter for a couple bucks to convert it to sata power. Make sure the new power supply has sufficiant power for the system.

Does dimension 2400 support SATA DVD player

No, not directly. There is no SATA header, (Connector), on the motherboard, and you have no SATA power cable on your power supply.

HOWEVER, you can buy, and install a SATA Adapter Card, and use a SATA adapter cable, on a certain power cable you have already.

The SATA adapter card goes into any available, (Open), PCI expansion slot on your motherboard.
(White slot on motherboard)

This is an example, (Not an advertisement for said manufacturer, nor website),

You will also need a SATA data cable, to hook that SATA DVD player up to a SATA adapter card.
(7-pin connector on each end of the cable)

As said, you can convert a certain power cable on your power supply into a SATA power cable. (15-pin connector, on the SATA end of the cable)

The power cable is a Peripheral power cable. It will have a 4-pin Molex connector on the end.

If you have an unused Peripheral power cable, an adapter power cable plugs onto it. The other end of the cable has the SATA power connector. (15-pin)

Will give examples of a Peripheral power cable, and a SATA adapter cable, in an additional comment.

How do I install a new CD drive in an old destop computer It is an old Compaq Presario 5WV254 The existing CD drive has a ribbon type connector that mates up to the pins on the drive plus a 4 pin module...

The Compaq Presario SWV254 Desktop PC uses IDE technology, not SATA.
In the specifications for the above Desktop PC, it states ATAPI is used for the interface technology, and connector, for the optical drive/s.

[IDE is also referred to as PATA. Parallel ATA
SATA is Serial ATA.
The PATA designation was implemented, so that computer users could easily distinct between IDE, and SATA technology]

1) The IDE interface cable, (Flat ribbon cable), has a connector on each end with 40 socket holes.
(39 are actually used. Most of the time, one socket hole is blocked off. (Pin 32)

2) The SATA interface cable has 7 contact pins. Also referred to as a Data cable.

3) The IDE devices, (Harddrive and optical drive), use a 4-pin Molex connector for the power cable.

4) The SATA devices use a 15-pin connector on the end of the power cable.

More info on SATA,

The Samsung SH223C optical drive is a SATA device.
You cannot just plug it in.

IF, you have an open, (Available), PCI slot on the motherboard, you can use a SATA adapter card.
The SATA adapter card plugs into the PCI slot, and has the necessary connections on the card, for a SATA interface cable.

Just for the SATA interface cable. Does not have a connection for the SATA power cable, you need.

You have to buy a 4-pin Molex to SATA power cable adapter, and connect it to an available 4-pin Molex power cable, on your power supply.

You will also need a SATA data cable. The interface cable that goes from the SATA adapter card, to the SATA optical drive you're trying to install)

This is an example of a SATA adapter card. It is not an advertisement for said website, nor manufacturer,

How do I power a SATA DVD drive? I have an Ultra 350 ATX supply. Tom.

There are actually adapters for SATA powered devices as long as you have the required SATA data cable connection to your motherboard.
Click here to see an example of this item from ebay.
All you would have to do is plug in the adapter into any free connection on your existing power supply and then plug in the SATA data cable both into your drive and the motherboard. There are actually SATA data cable adapters if you don't have that either, but i'll just stick to answering your question! (:

Hmmm.... mainly you have:
-20 or 24-pins connector, that is unique and goes directly to motherboard (powers motherboard and its components)
-4 or 8-pins connector that powers CPU
-the rest would be connectors for ROM (CD/DVD/BlueRay) and HDD devices (there are: molex and sata power conectors)

If you totaly unshure, there is manual:

I know the ULT33135 has not been in production for

This page at is the SATA adapter. This page is a 4-pin molex Y cable which you could use if you need extra plugs to use with the adapter. I only used these as examples because I use TD frequently. Similar parts are available from other online sources.
