CD player

the rest of the midi system works but the cd player will not go
round and lpay cds.

My stereo worked unreliable. Sometimes it worked, but most times it said "no disc", spinned up like crazy and gave back the disc after a minute...

First of all: I solved it by replacing the laser unit.

In my case, I ordered a kss-213c-type laser-unit mounted completely with cd- and linear-motor via ebay. The next step was swapping it into the defective Hifi-set. That was bit of a work, but went okay due to the service-friendly conception of the set.

It turned out, that only the linear motor-section worked with the new mechanical/laser-unit. The disc didn`t spin up at all. Okay. No i had the pleasure to swap each component, step by step:

First, I replaced the spindle motor. Again, nothing happened. Onla the laser slid back and fourth and kept still than.

Secondly, I replaced the Laser unit. Be very careful with that point. It is very sensitive! In my case, the old unit worked suxessfully now. Along with new plastic-gears and two new motors alongside with the old drive-mothervoard, it works fine and 100%-reliable. I assume, that it were only the two plastic-gears, which were working no more calculable.

The system works great, but when I try to play the cd's, they play for 3 songs then it quits. HELP.....
