You are in the right place but looking at the wrong option, if you scroll down on the Normal profile you will see a message tone option, if you are not hearing a tone at the moment then I suspect it will say "No Sound". Tab this option and select Existing sound, you will then be able to navigate through the sound files on your phone and choose one of the Default Sounds (from the folder by the same name) or an MP3 or other supported sound file you have added to your phone.
If that doesn't solve your problem then you may have a faulty phone.
You can change the sound you get when sound alert is switched on by going to Settings > Touch Settings > Touchscreen Effect and choosing a different sound from the Tone option. You can also change the volume of the tone of severity of touch vibration here.
Hmmm, I have the same problem as well. I have just recently exchanged my LG renoir for another one with my buisness contract insurance due to the previous handset's camera not working. I have had this new one for about 4 days and everything was fine until last night. I sent a text and looked at my phone and it just went black. The backlight still on, the green button, the menu and the red one all light up. Even when I take the battery in and out, it just goes to the lights, if im lucky, i would see the logo LG then it goes back to just all the backlights on. I am wondering if I can reset the phone but I get my upgrade in April. To be honest, I cannot wait.
Hi to send and recive picture texts you will need to contact your network service provider and get them to send the MMS settings and GPRS settings to your handset, without these settings saved to your phone you will not be able to recive the picture texts, hope this helps.
the gps on my renoir works fine with orange maps , couldnt get it to work for a while though but seemed to sort itself out, does take a fairly long time to get the positioning but once it found the satellites it worked no problem at all gave me directions to my house... havent used it since but it did take about maybe 15 minutes to find the signal u have to be patient
