Dewalt Emglo 55168 motor starts to slow down as pressure builds to about 30 PSI. It really starts to labor. Any thoughts as to what could be causing the motor to strain and slow?

Most likely in tank check valve is leaking or belt is slipping. Belt tension easy to check, should not deflect with thumb pressure. Check valve should not let air escape out of tank. Easy to check. Run compressor till pressure builds to around 50 psi. Then unplug machine from power outlet. Listen for air leaking out of tank. In bad cases, air will actually leak out of intake filter. Replace check valve as needed. Good luck

Volvo v 70 2001 the caris slow when i press on the gaz pedal

This is usually the idle air control valve which gets carbon buildup over time. It can be removed and cleaned with some brake cleaner. The valve will readjust itself after a short drive. But you could also have cruise control issues if installed...cheers

When compressor gets to proper pressure and starts to kick down, it stalls

when the pressure reaches its max (abt 130psi)the unloader valve
slows down the speed of the compressor and relieves backpressure
on the pump. The carb has two idle speed screws. one is high speed
to build pressure, and the other is a low spd for when the pump doesn't have
a load. this screw is on the carb between the carb and the rocker
arm cover.turn it clockwise to increase the slow spd idle until it just stays

Most carbs have a H (running) and L (idle) mixture screws on them, but the newer ones are getting away from that somehwhat and some aren't adjustable. I am including a tech guide for carb adjustment for a Zama carb. All diaghram carbs are similar.

The idle is electronically adjusted by the ECM with the IAC (idle air control) valve which is located in the throttle body. Then the IAC get's to dirty from carbon build up, it can cause what your experiencing
Start with cleaning the throttle body, paying attention to the IAC passageway to try to clean the IAC. If this does not fix the issues, you may have to replace the IAC if it is to dirty to clean.
Thank you for using fixya and good luck, do not use carb cleaner, the carburetor cleaner is to corrosive to the gaskets used on the throttle body's. .

the pilot valve or control valve when it unloads sends a air signal to close the motor throttle down to idle and depending on what form of control it uses for the compressor it will either use head unloaders to hold open the inlet valves or a unloader that dumps the compressor output to atmosphere, this one uses a silencer mounted near the pilot valve. if it uses this type remove the silencer and retest the operation. either you have a motor that is out of adjustment or the compressor is not unloading!

Air pressure iI gone but motor works haappened all

As I understand it, your air compressor motor runs but you can not build pressure. Is this correct?

Two main reasons:

#1: Your safety valve popped and the air is going straight out the safety valve. You should be hearing a loud hissing noise if this is the case. Press the safety valve back in and you should build pressure. Many such valves have a ring on them (to help you find them). It should be very near the pressure switch.

#2: You have a broken reed valve. A reed valve opens or closes based on the pressure it is under. It allows air to enter the tank on the compression stroke, but will not let it out of the tank as the piston strokes up and down. If it is broken or stuck open, you cannot build pressure.

and #3, a after thought, no extra charge ;-) The rings on the piston may have broken.

For #2 and #3, it will be necessary for you to remove the head to inspect.

Find repair parts at the Coleman web site.

I hope this helps you solve your trouble.

Air compressor fills, but slows down as the pressure builds

sounds like you need a new check valve which should be somewhere between the compressor outlet piping, tubing, etc and the tank which prevents the air in tank to back feed to the compressor which would cause hard starting and could damage the motor easy way to check is when you shut off the compressor with some air in the tank if the check valve is bad it would continue to bleed air out out the unloader valve .the unloader valve on your unit is most likely part of the pressure switch when the unit shuts of it should only bleed down the pressure in the pump so it would make it easy to start when needed hope i didn't confuse you
