Occasionally this will happen... if you are not using the drive in any way, you can simply remove the usb cable from your computer and it will not affect your external harddrive.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Cannot eject because "contains files that are in use by another application".

Hi Dana,
You close all applications and open windows, wait for some seconds/ or refresh on the desktop for some times. Then try ejecting again. If the message still pops up, your device probably contains some male-ware or virus. If you have an active virus program, scan your device. otherwise you un-plug it anyway.

I am trying to connect leapfrog leapstar to computer and follow application but when I connect usb with computer the leapstar says Please click "Eject button" Where is the eject button? I've...

The Eject button appears when a Leapster2 handheld is connected and turned on. When you have finished configuring the Leapster2 handheld and your child wants to play with it, you can click the Eject button to disconnect the device. Once ejected, a message will appear letting you know that it is safe to disconnect the Leapster2 handheld from the computer. It is not really a "button" but a picture of a green button which says "EJECT". It should be located on the upper right corner of your screen.

  1. If you have not already installed the Device Manager, download the .exe file to install the latest version of the Device Manager application from http://www.philips.com/support. Enter your language preference and the model number e.g.hdd070. Select Software under Product Support on the left of the screen. Scroll down and click on the .exe file of your preferred language under the category PC software. The program will install both Musicmatch® Jukebox and Device Manager in one go automatically.
  2. Connect the hdd to the power supply with the AC/DC adapter.
  3. Launch the Device Manager at Start->Programs->Philips GoGear HDD->Philips GoGear HDD on your PC
IMPORTANT: All music & content of your micro jukebox will be erased once the factory setting is restored.
  4. A dialogue box will pop up; click Restore and OK to confirm and start restoring the unit to its factory setting.
  5. Follow all screen instructions to complete the restoration.
  6. The Device Manager will close automatically once the success message is displayed. Safely remove your GoGear micro jukebox by clicking on the EJECT HARDWARE icon in your task tray bar. When prompted, "The USB Mass Storage Device can now be safely removed from the system", click OK and unplug your micro jukebox.

Make sure you have all programs and folders closed. Then try stopping usb mass storage, there should be more then one option so try removing the drive itself on the list. If that doesn't work. I myself would probably just restart the computer. Then try again.
Thanks,

Problem ejecting my fujitsu external drive even all programs has been closed, even if the laptop has already been restarted. how to eject safely without damaging the external hard drive?

With USB devices you can go down to the clock section of the task bar and click on the << symbol to expand it. Pass the mouse over the icons and find the one that says USB devices. Open the service and select the drive you want to remove. Then choose stop service and it should shut down the drive and give a message saying it is safe to remove the device. Good Luck

Tom Tom frozen

Hello megbert, I own a TomTom also and have had your same problem before. I have listed the procedures from TomTom Home. First try a soft reset (Reset button is located at the bottom of the TomTom device next to where the DC plug plugs in). Make sure your batteries are charged up or the USB is plugged in.

If your device is not starting up properly, follow the steps below:
  1. Soft reset your device

  2. If your device still does not start up, then reinstall the TomTom application using HOME
If you have backed up your TomTom to your computer, then you can reinstall the TomTom application from your backed up data
In rare cases, your TomTom device may not start correctly or may stop responding. If this happens, try resetting your device. A reset does not delete any data.
