Generally you do not install a router (shown in the picture) onto a PC you connect to a router with a wire using a network adapter or wirelessly with a wireless adapter. Can you any of the following you have identify you make and model of PC, make and model of add-on adapter card? Then I may be able to assist you in determining if a driver exists for the device attached to your computer intended to communicate with the identified router.

If the cd that came with the wireless router will not install we can probably perform configuration options with a web browser. Do either ofthese address your issue.

Hi i have been trying to install xp on Compaq presario cq56 but gives an error msg and there is no option in bios to change from sata

Are you trying to replace Windows 7? If so, I recommend you run WinXP in a virtual mode. Assuming your processor supports virtualization (I think it does) then all you need is the professional or ultimate version of Windoows 7. You can then download the necessary program and a special copy of WinXP pro. This allows you to run WinXP inside Windows 7 without the need to reboot. Look at the links below. You will need a legal version of Windows 7 pro or ultimate. I am not sure what you currently have.

I just bought Intel ATOM D425 MB. I installed winxp. Everything ok. But Network drivers not installed. In device manager it shows as unknown device. I searched the Intel site. They dont also have the LAN...

OF COURSE there are no Windows XP networking drivers for this Intel motherboard. WinXP was released in 2001; this motherboard wasn't even DESIGNED until XP had already been replaced by Windows Vista and Windows 7. Why would Intel ever bother to make drivers for an OLD operating system for NEW hardware?

You bought NEW hardware; you need a NEW operating system to make it work. If you want to use XP, you won't be able to do any networking with this system. If you want to be able to network this system, you'll need to buy a modern operating system for the modern hardware.

I know this isn't the answer you want to hear, but you also won't find Microsoft writing a NEW operating system to work with my OLD AMD 386DX-40 motherboard. Of course, you can always complain to Intel and Microsoft, but that won't change the reality. You have NEW hardware, which is great, but NO ONE is going to design and write NEW drivers for an OLD operating system to work with your new system.

I need driver winxp for macbook

When you run window XP , window xp just share the hardware from Apple OS. While you install window XP in BootCamp, it will need the driver for itself because the Apple OS wasn't running. You need to get to device manager and check out which drivers need to be install, take note, search and download driver then install it.

HP 520 Notebook. Shuts down before installing new OS.

I agree a clean install is always the better, fresh start J
OK it sounds like missing drivers, what you have to do is create a new installation CD that will load the drivers for your laptop as it boots. I haven’t try this method with windows 7, but I know it works well with Windows XP. Try and create a new Windows XP CD with the drivers see:
The start a new installation with this Windows XP CD and reformat you computer, after that you can do a new upgrade to windows 7

Bluetooth not installing on WinXP

I looks like Acer designed this Notebook for Windows Vista only.

Have you wiped Vista and installed XP instead? If so is there a particular reason, like an old piece of software not working with Vista?

I would be inclined to put Vista back on it. Vista is much better and safer than XP once you get used to it, Especially on a laptop.

If you really want to keep XP, try looking for an older Acer notebook with the same bluetooth adaptor that came with XP installed and see if the driver works from that, its a long shot though.

I have a Memorex U48 Flat Bed Scanner and have bought a new compouter with Vista. I need a driver download to work with Windows Vista. Thanks

get the winXP driver MEMu1.50 (still available), there are no Vista drivers. Run the installation using WinXP emulation in Vista. You must run the installation as if you are in XP, not necessary when using the scanner subsequently. Now the Memorex 48u works on a Dell Dimension, running Windows Vista Home Premium. Hope this helps. I got the scannner for $14 after rebates at Staples years ago, it won't die.
