HOW TO TEST A BLOWER MOTOR

To test the motor windings, use a multimeter to ohm out the common wire wtith the remaining wires of the motor, youn should read resistance, if you read OL on your meter the windings are bad. To test for a short to ground, check the resistance between each motor wire and the motor frame, you should not read resistane ifnyou do the motor is shorted to ground. To test mechanically, spin the shaft by hand, it should move easily, if hard to turn replace the motor. You can also apply power directly to the motor and if it does not start replace motor. Hope this helps

Will not heat up

do you mean you dont have heat from the blower in the car? if so does the blower motor work(is it moving air out the vents), if so it could be an air pocket in the heater core, whitch means you have a coolant leak,or someone bypassed the heatercore last summer cause heatercore leaks, or the blend door is not moving in heater housing , or the heater switch is broken or not moving the actuator at motor on blend door in heater housing.

Heaters blow cold

could be heater core failure.

If the temp guage remains cold....the thermostat is stuck open, therefore coolant is running thru the motor always. Therefore, no heat anywhere, and poor gas mileage.

My heater fan turns on before the car has warmed up. It blows cold air? Any ideas why?

After warmup it still blows cold, or only when cold? Normally the fan will operate independently of engine temp except in some climate controlled vehicles. As long as it blows warm air after engine is at temp that's a good thing. the heater uses hot water from the engine. Obviously the heater can't be warm before the engine is. If it's cold after the engine is hot, there are vacuum controlled "motors" on top of the heater box under the dash that move doors that control heat. Either one of the control motors or one of the doors have stuck or failed. Many also have a control valve on one of the heater hoses under the hood as well. If the engine comes up to temp then the thermostat is good (should be at about 210f) Only remaining item is the core itself which may be internally or externally obstructed.
All this being said, if it's good when the engine is up to temp, leave it alone...it's fine.

My 03 polo heater temperature is remaining hot regardless of where the dial is, I understand there is a sensor behind the dash , how is it fixed

the temperature flap motor could be faulty or jammed.this motor controls your heater in the car.remove the glove compartment and look towards the center of the dash, you will see a motor with a half moon gear attached to it.try with the ignition turned on and operate the dial and see if the half moon gear moves.if not replace the motor.

Engine over heats when heater is turned on then heater goes cold

Your motor is just simply low on antifreeze and its pulling your remaining coolant into the heater core and not allowing it to keep circulating through your engine.

A/c stopped working, the clutch still engages, fan blows warm, found no fluid leaks

the air blend door inside the heating / cooling unit that sits under the dash is probably not moving. there is an electric motor and control unit that moves the air blend door (assuming you have the electric dial or push button digital controls. some of these vehicles have a valve that shuts off the antifreeze from cycling through the heater and if it remains open then you would get "not hot" but just warm air.

1997 F150 heater problem

your problem is caused by the air temperature control blend door actuator motor being defective, the little motor moves the door that gives either hot air or cold air or a blend of the 2.
