Question about E-Machines T6528 PC Desktop
Computer turns on but fan just runs and screen says check connection cable. have tripled checked everything even installed new nvidia geforce 8400 for PCI. computer still won't boot, screen still says to check cable. Can't get into bios. Please Help.
If it doesn't boot at all .( this is the reason that you see that message on the screen it means that no video signal came out from the computer ) ..try to change the cable that leads from the pc to the monitor first ...and if the problem its still on ...it have to be something related with the Ram memory or the CPU ....cause these 2 are the only things that can make a system to do not boot at all ...if any other device will not work ..the pc will still boot to bios ..or will still show the devices it finds on start ...even if is not able to succeed with the operating system boot...
so ...either it boots and you can not see anything cause the cable its damaged...( very possible cause this is the case it shows that message ...when the cable its shorted ..or unplugged ) or it doesn't starts at all cause of the memory or CPU ...

WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL.
Only work inside the computer case when the power has been switched off and disconnected. Never open the power source.
Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA
the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have secure dust free connections and are not faulty
If its a 40 pin flat ribbon type it will be the first to fail.
Even something as small as a faulty electrical fan and its lead can cause you problems
computers need all power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error.
Make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket
if you remove your graphics check the socket to make sure its dust free.
Restart your computer then reinstall it this should activate found new hardware wizard
Check the VGA cable connection running from the computer to the monitor.
This cable must be completely inserted into both VGA connection ports, otherwise the video signal is not going to reach the display.
Disconnect the VGA cable from the computer and monitor, then look at the metal connectors on both ends.
If you are missing connection pins, the video signal is not going to transfer between hardware correctly.
To fix this problem, you must obtain a new VGA cable (at any computer or electronics store) to send the video signal.
Examine the power connection on the monitor.
If the monitor is not receiving power, it is not going to turn on.
Turn off the monitor for a few minutes, then power it back on.
Like other computer hardware, the monitor may not initially turn on correctly.
Move the mouse and press the "Enter" key on the computer keyboard.
If the computer is in sleep mode, the monitor is going to appear as if it does not have any display.
Hope this helps.
