Question about Standard Oregon Chainsaw Chain For Stihl Chainsaw 24" Bar Length 84 Drive Links 3/8 0.05 Gauge Chiesel Chain
This is from my owners manual. Make sure that the oil passages ih the bar are clear and clean. If so, then remove the bar cover, bar and chain and make sure the oil port from the saw to the bar is clean. If so then run the saw and see if oil is being pumped out of the port. If not then you need to remove the pump which is below the port on the bottom of this area by removing 3 screws and carefully removing it. Make sure the tubing that connects to the pump is also good, then carefully dis-assemble the pump and clean it. there is a small spring in there so be careful. There is an oil filter that must be cleaned. wash all parts in gasoline and inspect the diapragms for tears and holes. if all is well it should be re-assembled and put back on. Thsi is all you can do to repair it yourself and the shop guy can't do much more. hope this helps, Now I gotta go fishin". The jumbo's are hitting in Lake Erie today
