HP Pavilion zv5000 Turns off every 10 mins and restarts itself?

Hello everyone! I have a HP Pavilion zv5000. I turn it on it load up everything runs fine. Once 10 or so it will turn off by itself. It restarts again and it keeps doing that. I read on here it could be the fans but it restarts itself. I look and i see one of the two fans running. The fan that is closer to the battery doesn't go so maybe it could be that fan. I dont know I hope you guys you can help me!

Wow fast reply thank you Muebe! It does it on a/c power. I always have it plug in cuz it my home laptop. I'm going to try the can air tonight.I have a queston? If it was overheating would the laptop restart itself? When it turns off it doesn't stay off it just restarts itself. Thank you again!

If it is sort of random then it may well just be overheating.

Get a can of compressed air used to clean computers. Put the nozzle on and spray it in every hole you can see without putting the nozzle itself inside the laptop.

Do this outside with glasses on.

laptops should never be used on soft surfaces eg carpet, beds, cushions, etc. Most newer laptops also have more cooling slots / openings. this leads to a fater build up of gunks inside.. Best option is to buy a GOOD 3 fan notebook cooler.

If the fan that does not work now works after cleaning you may be OK.
If not the you will need to get that fan replaced.

Cooling on laptops is critical and using it with defective fans / cooling could cost you a lot more than just a fan.

Most computers have a setting in the BIOS that tells it to start up again after a power failure

Thermal shutdown would come under that too.

Were not always this fast you just caught me at the right time.

When the computer is on try using that computer cleaner compressed air that comes in the can on the fan that is not working. If you hit it with the compressed air and get the fan to spin and then it starts to spin on it's own the fan could be sticking. This will cause overheating and the computer could shut down like it's doing. Also does it do it when the battery is on or a/c power or both?

Starting point would be to turn the computer right off including taking out the battery unplug the power supply wait a while and then reconnect power supply and restart holding down the key that allows you to enter the BIOS. Reset the BIOS to default settings and then restart. If this works then reinsert the battery and hopefully this will fix your problem.
