Question about Audio Players & Recorders
This problem is caused when the optical drive fails to read the DVD accurately and this causes it to skip forward.
The most common cause of this is dirt on the laser lens. You should try a DVD laser cleaning disk which you can purchase at any good Audio store. It just inserts into the DVD as normal and plays like a normal disk but it performs a cleansing action on the lens as it operates.
You can also clean the lens by opening the case and using an alcohol solution with a Q-tip to gently clean remove any residue from the lens that may be causing the issue.
Remember - Safety First! If you decide to clean the lens by opening the case - please ensure that the unit is completely disconnected from its power supply.
If these actions fail to resolve the issue then the drive itself is misaligned and will require service attention as this is not a user serviceable issue.
Hope this helps. Please do rate my answer. Many Thanks.
