Question about BOSE48 - Lifestyle 48 Home Entertainment System (black) Refurbished System

Bose Lifestyle 48 Series IV

I recently bought a new Bose Lifestyle 48 IV with the Video Switcher. I decided to test the UMusic system and proceeded to save some CDs. The second CD I inserted was a recorded CD which has some songs unplayable. After saving the playable songs, the system is completely 'frozen' with 'Bose Lifestyle' appearing on screen. The system doesn't respond to the remote, the buttons on the media centre don't work, the cd tray won't open etc. The manual says when this happens the system is resetting itself, but it has been like this overnight and nothing seems to be happening. Please help!

Re: Bose Lifestyle 48 Series IV

Hate to stae the obvious and painfull answer, but that nees to go back to the shop where if the sales guy cant get it sorted for you it could be a firmware crash and tus a warranty replacement, i know the manual is not that good in this specif area. and a non warranty reset may cost money, if warranty does not cover this specific area of adventure as it is possible they could blame the content of the media being corrupted in some way, could be ahrd one.

however you could try remoing the disk and resetting the system according to manual frist.

good luck ;-)

Reset Bose LifeStyle 48 VChip Password

Bypass or Reset Bose LifeStyle 48 System V-Chip Password Lock

Would you like to bypass, defeat or reset your Bose LifeStyle 48 System Parental V-Chip parental lock? Have you forgotten your V-Chip passcode or password?

If you forget your V-Chip passcode, you can view the locked signal without entering your password.

When your passcode is requested, enter the temporary code 2673. This process temporarily unlocks your system, and you can reset or change the password.

I hope that helps.

Pink and green colours seem to be too vibrant when watching dvd's on lifestyle 48

I have a Lifestyle 48 which suddenly started producing a pink and green image when playing DVDs (regular TV was fine.) After speaking with Bose support, I did the following which resolved the problem:

1. Removed power from the video switcher. (or from the bose itself if you don't use the switcher.)

2. Reattach all the video cables on the back of the bose and ensure all connections to the TV and switcher (if applicable) are tight.

After performing these steps, my DVD image went back to normal. I suspect it was a loose cable in the end, but no harm in performing the power disconnect.

A ps3 and tried hooking it up with hdmi to the 'vcr' connection on the vs-2 of the bose Lifestyle 48 but i don't get any audio (video is fine). hooked up the ps3 with hdmi directly to the tv and get both...

hook up computer straight to t.v with hdmi cable. then get two aux cables (usually red and white) and run them straight from tv audio OUTPUT to audio INPUT on bose system. them anytime you want surround sound even when your watching tv just press the aux button on the bose system controller. should be perfect.

Connecting ipod to Bose lifestyle 48

I have a Lifestyle 48 and called Bose today. It is possible all you need is a cord that is a 35mm headphone jack on one side and RCA jacks on the other. You plug it into the AUX jack in the back of your system and the headphone jack in the Ipod headphone spot. I got the cord at Best Buy for ten bucks. It works GREAT!

Hello, i have a vizio flat screen tv and i don't know the correct places to connect the cables of my Bose Lifestyle 48 Series IV DVD Home Entertainment System. Please help me

Does the Bose have HDMI out? Does the tv have an HDMI socket?
If it does just connect them both together. All inputs i.e. cd, ps3 dvd etc will go into the Bose.
