Question about Sub-Zero Refrigerators

1 Answer

I have a Sub-Zero 700TC/TCI, and it's flashing ''service'' on the LCD display. The refrigerator is freezing liquids such as juice. I tried to make it warmer, but it won't hold. I cleaned the condensor last month, so I don't know what's causing the problem. Any suggestions? The unit is 7 years old. Thanks for your help.

Leaking water

The drain tube under the evaporator in the fridge is clogged. these can only be accessed by removing all the shelves and the light diffuser, then removing the back wall. even then, the hole is tiny and hard to put anything down into to clear the debris. I usually use a steamer to force steam down through to clear out the clog or ice. I get theses hand held steamers at walgreens for about $25. Might be cheaper than a service call to invest in one. Hope this helps.

Sub zero model 700tc problem. frig heated up to 86 degrees. freezer is fine. What do I do?

Well moondoggie, it sounds like your light is staying on. You can depress the light switch while the door is open to confirm this. If it doesn't go out, you need a new switch.

Give it a try and let me know.

SUB ZERO 700TC Motor is very load and never seems to stop

If it's one of the two fan motors, if the fan blades aren't hitting somthing such as a wire or ice buildup, you'll just have to replace the motor. If it's the compressor making the noise you can either put up with the noise till it stops working or go ahead and get it repaired. Compressor work and replacement don't come cheap.

My freezer isnt working

this may sound stupid but is the ice maker turned on? Does it say "ice" in the display? If it does, check to see if the ice level arm is jammed into the upper position also make sure that the ice bin is in place (it actuates the ice maker switch) make sure there is no ice stuck to the top of the ice maker

Sub-Zero service manual

Here is a link to the error codes. If there is a fault condition these should be flashing on the display:

One this to try is a hard reset: unplug and wait for a few minutes and re-plug back in. Sometime this resets the service condition and will then display the error codes.

Ice is displayed when the ice maker is turned on. Press the ice on/off and it should turn off.
