First thing you want to do, is to make sure all the network cables are plugged into the correct devices such as your router, modem and the computer. if all is running well (everything is blinking with lights) go to your computer, open the control panel, select network connections and open it.

Right click on the Local Area Connection and right click on it and select repair. Wait for about 2 mins. After that restart your PC. Try to get on the internet. If you are still not able too, you will need to go to the command prompt, you can do this by selecting start then run, type in 'cmd' and enter.
internet does not connect - can not get ip address - da36351.jpg

(The screen above is in German Sorry, but you will get the point)
You will see a windows that pops open, it should see something like c:\Documents and settings\keith> or something like this. type in 'ipconfig /all' you will hopefully you will see a ip address and a lot of other information. the ones you will need to look at is to see if your dhcp is enabled if it is then this will give you a auto ip address if it is not, you will need to get a static address from your isp. You will try to see if you can communicate with the IP address by typing in 'ping ' then the ip address. for example 'ping 192.168.1.1' if you have not packets lost, then that is a good thing. then try to ping your gateway, this will be your router ip address. you can find this ip 'Default Gateway' if you are able to ping this, you should be able to go online fine.

If you are still not able to fix this
after the c:windows> type in 'ipconfig /release' so it will look like this

c:windows>ipconfig /relinternet does not connect - can not get ip address - 9275320.gifait untill it shows 0.0.0.0

Then type in ipconfig /renew

Keep this in mind this is usful if you have DHCP enabled. unless your in a workplace, you should have DHCP selected.

If you are still stuck, Please let me know and I will be more then happy to help.

When accessing the internet on tablet the `Unfortunately, internet has stopped` message appears even though it is showing that wifi is connected

Verify that your router has a good internet connection and that its local IP service (usually through DHCP) is running. Try entering the router's TCP/IP address (e. g., http://169.168.1.1) in your browser's address bar to see if you can get the router's status page.

One of the more common failures in older routers is IP service dropout, particularly if the router overheats because something was stacked on top of it. This will result in client error messages such as the one you describe.

Another possibility is an authentication failure, but that would generally mean somebody messed with the wireless network access password, or there's a bug in the wireless coding (as in some ASUS laptops - this was fixed in a firmware update).

Where can I get an I.p. address for my tablet . Im not sure what happened , I put it back to factory settings and after that there was no ip address. Please help?

What most likely happened is when you factory reset the device, the wireless setup that you use to connect to the Internet was reset as well. You need to go into the wireless setup area and look for networks to connect to. The one that you use regularly (assuming you are where you use the device), should be among those listed. You then tell the device to connect to the network. This is where the device will ask you for the network password if it is a secure network (and most are). Once you input the password, then the network router will assign an IP address to the device and connect it to the network. After that you can access the Internet normally. If you don't know or forgot the network password, someone in the household (or business) should be able to provide it so long as you are authorized to connect.

4.1 jellybean keeps searching for IP address. Will not connect. All apple products connect fine

This is the result of a bug in Android 4.1, you'll have to manually assign an IP address to your Android device.
Instructions on how to do this are available here:

Hisense Codes

Try opening internet explorer and going to www.google.com
If this also produces an error, go to START -> Type "CMD" in the search box and hit ENTER
A black box will apear.
Type "ping www.google.com"
If it comes back with errors, it is your internet connection. You can be connected to your home network whilst your internet is not working.
Are you on windows 7?
If so try this:
There should be a network icon at the bottom right of your screen, a computer icon. Right click it, select "open network and sharing center"

You should have a network that says LOCAL AREA CONNECTION. Select this.
Click on DETAILS...
You should have an IPv4 Address that looks similar to "192.168.1.3"
Write down this address.
Close the current screen. You should be on the LOCAL AREA CONNECTION STATUS screen again.
Click PROPERTIES.
Double click the INTERNET PROCOTOL VERSION 4
Select USE THE FOLLOWING IP ADDRESS:
Now remember that IPv4 address i told you to remember? Well put that down in the IPADDRESS field, except add +15 to the number.
Eg. original: 192.168.1.3
Make it: 192.168.1.45
Subnet should be: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway should be the same as your IP but with a 1 at the end.
EG: 192.168.1.1

As for the DNS - Log in to your router/modem and in the summary or overview section it should list the primary and secondary DNS ip addresses, find them and fill in the remaining 2 boxes.

That's it, you're done. Enjoy your internet.

Internet explorer connection

Hi there,

This problem could be due to your DNS settings or your IP Address. First of all you will have to configure your router to accept the new computer. To do this you will need to go in to the router in your browser window and add your new device.

Then you will need to configure your router to either automatically assign an IP Address or use an allocated IP Address and use the same setting on your new computer. Also, you will need to configure your router to either assign a DNS Server automatically or to use an allocated DNS Server and once again you will need to use the same settings on your new computer.

Your IP Address is crucial in order for your new computer to connect properly to your network. Your DNS Server is crucial in order for your new computer to access the internet through your network.
