They need alot of power to get sound out of them. If you hooked it up straight to the radio without an amp, you would barely hear it.

I have a pioneer ts-w304r 12" subwoofer with a Dual Xpr520 400 watt amp, and a kenwood kdc-bt742u head unit. everything is hooked up properly. i know for a fact, and the head unit has all subwoofer options...

bad sub or amp. test your sub with a 9-12 volt battery not a car battery!!! more like a drill battery with low amp rating (don't leave power to it very long or could wreck your sub coil). if that work. then test your amp with a working output if you have a friend with a system hook it up in there car to see if it will work. pawn shops test amps tell them you want to sell it and they will test it and then decline their offer. lol just thought of that on the spot.

I have a jvc sp-pw50 Subwoofer and i want to know if you can buy an adapter for the input so i can hook it up to my kenwood amp? my amp does have a regular audio jack

That would require you to disassemble the subwoofer cabinet and disconnect the the supplied amplifier.
Connecting this unit to a different amplifier would provide no benefit to you unless the on-board amplifier became damaged.

Why want my subwoofer play like it's supposed to? It barely plays

check your ohm load on that audiobahn sub some amps run at an bypass or ohm load and then kick off if its the sub itself is not a 2ohm stable or 4ohm stable

did you hook up the power antenna or amp. turn On wire? make sure you should ha a wire that is to power an antenna and this is the wire that has 12 volts as soon you turn On your stereo and send 12 volts to your amp. but if you don't connect this wire, the amp will never turns On

How to wire a 2400w amp to 3 12s subs

if the amp is a 2 channel, u could either bridge them all, or if you wanted to, you could hook 2 speakers to the two seperate channels, and then hook the other one to the negative on one channel and the possitive on the other. if this wasnt what you meant, just, try to tell me more about the amp... thanks

I just picked up a 12" type r in a box with a alpine m 350 how do I know what kind of type R I have without taking it out of the box?? and how do i hook it up to this amp??

Not to insult you in any way but u need to know how to wire into car's electrical system at the battery then to a fuse then to the amp and then output the signal from the deck to the amp.. finally to the subwoofer. you need to hook up 12V constant battery power , then remote from the deck ,ground wire from amp to chasis for power.. then wire to sub.

Amp goes into protection

make sure the impedance is right for the amp you're using. If you're using a 4ohm amp and a 2ohm sud that may be the problem. It may be overdriving the amplifer which is bad and can cause damage to the amp. Hope this helps.

Hook together both positives from each speaker together and both negatives from each speaker together and hook them up as one connection to your amp.
