I used Cyberlink for some time... got frustrated with various problems and moved on to other apps... BUT if yours works well, try the updates direct from Cyberlink here:

Hope this helps!

The first document below will give you troubleshooting steps to check your webcam and it's software to make sure everything is functioning as it should.

How do u turn on your webcam

Its activated through webcam software. It shows up as a usb device usually or has the specific name for that model cam.

Most HP's come with a basic version of CyberLink Youcam application.

If you no longer have the software, take your model and serial number down, go to HP's website and look for the software under your model. Make sure you correctly select which OS you're running from HP's drivers and apps pages.

Worse comes to worse, you would buy cyberlink's software (or upgrade).

The Hp DV6000 series needs Cyberlink's "YouCam" software to run. Make sure this software has been downloaded and installed. It is listed under programs....Cyberlink YouCam. If you do not have it, the link is below to download it. Just scroll down near the bottom of the page.

How do i turn my web cam on?

dsavageprosp- Do you have any controlling software installed? I know on integrated HP WebCams they usually use Cyberlink YouCam for web-cam software (which SHOULD be pre-installed with an integrated camera), under Start>Programs>CyberLink YouCam>CyberLink YouCam. If it's not installed, you can download it at the link below, install and it should recognize your cam and you should be good to go: Hopefully I understood your question and answered sufficiently. If not, let me know & I will try again if you can give me a few more details. Cheers! -WhiteHatH4x0r

My web cam doesnt work and i want to know how to fix it

The HP DV seriews laptops use Cyberlink's Youcam software. If the software has been installed and setup, the camera will automatically come on when the software starts. If the camera does not come up, then there could be several issues with it. One being the camera has failed, two, most common is that the connecting cable between the camera and motherboard has failed. It fails because it passes through the right hinge and at times gets pulled or stressed over time. Third is the software is corrupt and needs to be reinstalled, or the operating system was upgraded and a new updated driver has not been updated. Below is the link to the cyberlink Youcam software, jusr scroll down near the bottom of the page and you will see the links.

HP pavilion dv9720 how do I take a pic with the web cam?

If you bring up the cyberlink Youcam software and the camera initiates, there is a tab on the main page of the camera view that has an icon of a camera....that is the button for still images that can be saved, edited, etc. If you do not have the Cyberlink Youcam software, then the webcam will not initiate. Below is the link for the program, just click on the link and scroll down to the bottom of the page for the direct link.
