Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer

Red X on printer icon

I do not know what this red x is on my Kodak 5100 all in one printer icon. I can turn on the printer, scan a document and print it with no problem. However, the peoblem comes when I try to print a document from the computer. It keeps telling me 'printer is not on' when it is on, but I noticed tis big red X on the printer icone and cannot find a solution to this problem anywhere! Is it a software problem?

Yes delete driver and restart computer then reinstall driver. then update at printers oem web site.

did you recieved an error message printer not responding? If yes please double check the icons of printer on the printer and faxes, if you can see 2 icons delete both icons and unplug your USB cable, then restart computer.
Now if the computer is already restarted connect USB cable then try to print.

Thinking of cleaning the print head? ?


Try this one, Turn on the printer, Take out the inks, remove the printhead, put back the printhead make sure it will snap and you hear a click, put the inks back, wait for the printer to initialize, Press the Menu button, look for Calibrate printer, then print calibration page, then scan it after. Load a regular paper. Then try to print a demo page by pressing Photo and Copy at the same for 5 seconds then let it go. If same problem persist call this no for further assistance 1800 421 6699

My printer prints and copies but doesn,t scan


scanning requires a place to keep a copy of the document.connect ur computer and printer via usb2.0 and then open kodak home center from ur desktop. from there scan the document. u will be able to scan and keep a copy of the document on the desktop. if there is any problem,contact kodak @ 1800 421 6699

My Kodak 5100 printer has been great. Even though


Clean the printhead, then print a demo sheet.
  1. Verify that inkjet paper is loaded in the paper trays.
  2. On your desktop, start the KODAK All-in-One Home Center, then select the Help [?] icon.
  3. From the Help menu, select Maintenance, then select Printhead Cleaning. The On/Off light flashes green during the cleaning procedure.
  4. When the On/Off light glows a steady green, press Photo and Copy simultaneously to print a demo sheet.
Is the Demo printout giving the same result?
If so, you may need to replace the printhead. This is a very common problem with this model.

Our kodak 5100 printer wont print red


just open home center and click on the question mark on the top right and click on maintenance in the right and click on clean print head.............if you still get the same issue then just take both the ink cartridges out and on their side there is a number and just reply me back with that number and i will let you know if its genuine ink cartridge or not.........coz there are lot of look alike and refilled ink cartridges in the market which you wont be able to make out............

Kodak Printer will not Print Red Ink


I have problems printing red ink too. What can I do to resolve this and how can I purchase a new Printhead to see if this is the problem?

Black ink is faded or doesn't print at all


Once installed, Kodak All-in-One printer Home Center software allows you to print, copy, scan, and configure your All-in-One printer from your Windows XP or Vista computer.
To open the Home Center software window on your computer, use the Home Center icon on the Desktop or in the Start Menu

From the All-in-One printer Home Center main menu, selecting one of the six menu items enables you to:
  • Scan pictures and documents
  • Enhance and copy pictures
  • Enhance and print images
  • Configure settings for printing, copying, and scanning from the control panel
  • Access the Kodak Tips and Projects Center Web site.
  • Order supplies from the Kodak Web site.
