HP PSC 1350 Photo Printing (Glossy Paper) Pront Quality issue

I have a HP PSC1350 and my OS is Windows Vista home edition.
I tired priniting photos using the windows Photo Gallery or any other application, the quality is very bad. I am trying prinitng in Glossy papers (180 gsm / 260 Gsm). I have chosen the correct options (paper - HP Photo Paper, Best Quality (600X 600)etc) but still the quality is bad.

However when I try priniting the same photos from the SD card or the compactflash card by inserting them directly into the printers Card reader slots the quality is perfec.

I am using the default drvier found in VistA. Can someone help.

Keep checking the HP site for an updated Driver for your printer, but why not use an online photo printing service like Walgreens or Walmart, You can't possibly print photos at home cheaper than they can, and this way you get actual photographs back.

When I print on photo paper the ink doesn't dry and picture quality is unrecognisable

You have to match your print settings with the correct type of media used !

When you print, set the preferences, set to PHOTO quality and not draft, set paper type to PHOTO PAPER, or GLOSSY PHOTO PAPER whichever - If you select wrong media type your colors might be off. Select the settings that match the closest to your media. If you use paper use "plain paper" setting, if you use glossy photo paper, use "glossy photo paper" as settings and PHOTO quality.

I recommend use you use inkjet PHOTO paper, glossy, you can use HP or EPSON or even the cheap LIKON ones work amazing for me, they should be able to dry quickly, if they don't you are not using the correct settings.

By your description above it looks like you are using economy or draft mode - NOT good for photo paper.

HP 1610 printer

It occurred to me when I was reading your post that photo paper has printing and non-printing sides. If the paper is loaded upside down, it's printing on the non-print side, which would result in what you're seeing. It's just a hunch, but you might want to consider it. has a web page that will walk you through the process of checking on this and other potential problems.

Checking image quality problems

Hope this helps. Good luck.
