If its brand new it could be a loose belt or just a bad connection. Just because its new doesn't mean the parts weren't defective from the factory. Could also be bad motor bearings

This table is run by a small clock motor which drives a long thin drive belt to turn the turntable. Try removing the glass plate and turn the three wheeled rack clockwise for about five turns, if this starts it moving all will be fine for a while but the drive belt is stretching and should be replaced soon. Also make sure that you don't have the unit plugged into an outlet that is feeding another high voltage appliance like a refrigerator or a toaster oven.

Is there something else I can do before purchasing a convection motor for the Amana ACE 14 convection express combo oven. The convection motor hums and turns very slowly but will not spin when turned

Well, running that slow makes it a serious fire hazard, it needs the air circulating to spread and dissipate the heat. Other than having a pro look at it, I would take it apart and clean all the moving parts, esp. the fan motor/drive and fan blades. Dust, fibers, lint etc. can build up very quickly when near an intake port. If the surface of any component is oily it makes the build-up even worse. I've saved a ton of money by doing this, the latest example being a dishwasher that was going to be thrown away. I cleaned and re-assembled it and it worked great, they are using it to this day. The same thing applies to computers, laptops aren't too bad, but towers are a different story. If you haven't opened up your computer lately, or ever, you should do so. I think you'd be surprised. Hope this helped. Grim

Why is the microwave running without being turned on?

These above range microwaves "hoods" automatically turn on a cooling fan even when the microwave is not in use. If you read the manuals you will see warnings about the fans automatically starting. Even when the microwave is not in use opening the door likely interrupts the power to the automatic cooling fan.

There are two things that come to mind, the magnetron is starting to fail, or the strapping has come loose on the fan motor housing, unplug microwave oven and remove top, [several screws] carefully inspect the fan for any loose mounts and tighten.

You should first be sure your filters are clean and that your ductwork is clear.

Fan will occilate but not spin freely

If the fan just sits there and can't decide which way to turn, the motor is bad. I'm assuming that it is a 120 volt, 60 cycle motor. Double check the voltage to the motor and the frequency as well before condemning the motor.

Humming ge sapcesaver microwave

During operation, most of the built-in models have a panel that tilts out while the exhaust fan is on. When cooking is done, the exhaust fan shuts off and the panel retracts to its normal position. With the fan & microwave motor off, the hum is easier to hear. Look closely at the top panel the next time you hear the hum, and you'll probably see that it's retracting.

Microwave problem

Is this a new or used unit, and is the humming sound new? Can you watch the fan blade go around or is it going too fast to watch a blade?

Frigidaire PLMV169cd Microwave Exaust Fan Hums but wont run

Do you mean the hood vent fan? (That would be a large assembly a little smnaller than a loaf of bread, I guess)

If it's this one, I would suggest you check the big starting capacitor on the circuit board and the connections on that cap.

Or do you mean the cooling fan inside, which would be small enough to basically fit in your hand?

In either case, I would measure the line voltage to be sure it's in the 110-125VAC range.

If it's grossly outside this range, you may have a problem with other electronics or light bulbs bblowing or being dim or erratic.

One handy thing about Whirlpools is that behind the control panel they have a mini-manual which is very useful in troubleshooting.

It may be that you have some toruble on your control board, which we repair for customers nationwide.

Please write back with more details if you need further help.

1800 XL JVM1860BD - won't work

It sounds like your controller may be failing. Or it could be an electrical line problem. Any other electrical itmes giving you trouble? Has anyone measured the voltage level of your power line? It should be around 110-125 volts AC. If it's significantly lower or higher, you may have a bad connection in your breaker panel or in the wiring leading to the home.
