I have a Husqvarna lawn tractor 48" model yth2448. My batteyr will not recharge and I must continuously relpace batteries. My diagram shows a regulator and alternator but doesn't give me product numbers so I can find and replace these, which the troubleshooting guide suggests as a solution. Help? Thank you.
When your tractor is running check the voltage at the battery posts with a meter. If the voltae is above 12 you are chrging good and need to replace the battery. If it is lower than 12 then the regulator and altinator are next. Remove the regulator and you will find numbers on it to take to a dealer and replace or have checked. Do the same with altinator..it could be either so give it your best guess in the order you want to have them checked. On a personal note..check your ground wire from battery to frame and make sure it is tight and clean. :) Hope this helps.

My 2-year old tractor has just started (a month after annual servicing) to run at a low RPM, that is most noticeable when I engege the blades (otherwise, the throttle seems to run pretty high w/o PTO engaged). JD limited support suggests fuel (new gas, used a little stabilizer just in case), and fuel filter (looks fine..clean w/ no clogs visable), and looking at spark plug (which is OK). Just now, I cleaned up loads of built up dirt/mud on the undercage (blade-path). The last time I used mower it buckled under heavy/tall grass, and now it is operating in this half-hearted manner. Any help MOST appreciated!
