First off, You can't just add memory to any Desktop or Laptop, most computers have a set amount that can be installed especially if Your still running Windows XP with a Celeron Processor so the most You could possibly add is 1 Gig by removing the 512MB and if it has 2 slots then most likely the most you can put on are @ 512MB sticks. I know this cuz I have a Dell Optiplex which won't allow me to add more than 512 in other words 2 286MB sticks. Hope this Helps, Good Luck =)

The Computer is shipped with DDR-SDRAM 333 or 400 MHz RAM module.
Make sure that you're using a compatible RAM module.
You may try reseating the RAM module in the memory slot.
Take out the RAM module then clean the RAM slot then reinstall the module. Ensure that the RAM module is properly seated into the slot. Furthermore, ensure that the newly installed RAM module's capacity doesn't exceed the supported capacity.
If the issue persists then you may try installing another compatible RAM module.

Check first if the memory is loose or there are any parts that have come loose such us IDE or SATA cables, For errors you should also get warning sounds.

When I push the power button on my Dell Dimension B110, nothing happens. There is power to the board, as there displays a green light. What shall I do?

take a look inside ..maybe wires are loose or something like that .. and while you are doing that ..remove the ram memory also ..and check them one by one ..and see if it boot-up or not ..also remove the bios battery and place it back ..If by mistake you selected something in bios related with the power button or the way it will boot up ..this will default the bios and will get it back to the factory settings ..and it may work if it is something related with it ..
Otherwise..I can not see what the issue may be ..but a faulty motherboard..or something related with the cpu ..try to see if the fan is working ..If this is unplugged or malfunctioning ..it will cause the cpu to stop the boot up ..

Memory Upgrade Attempt Causes Computer Not to Post

Seeing as the message is indicating a problem at one of the timer checkpoints, fatal is probably an accurate description. You are most likely looking at a motherboard replacement scenario. I've seen improperly seated memory modules toast timer circuitry on old boards back in the days when most of the timing circuitry was constructed from discrete components, not entirely IC-based timing solutions, but I have never seen it happen on modern boards.

Dell b110 won't boot

Hi,

The diagnostic codes you mentioned A & B amber C & D green indicate that the issue is related to the memory. Reseating the memory firmly resolves this issue. Most times the memory needs to be firmly pressed in till the latches click.

Below is the link to the No Power, No POST, No Video troubleshooting.
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/tree?c=us&l=en&s=gen&journalid=&treeid=011360B8243248349C306481A954B356&Query=&SystemID=&ServiceTag=&contenttype=&os=&component=&lang=&doclang=en&toggle=&dl=false
Follow all the steps and if there is no hardware failure, this will definitely resolve your issue.

Hope this helps. Please rate your feedback!
Thanks,
