There are multiple ones depending on your installed Firmware version....

1. Remove disc from tray.
2. Switch off player and unplug power cord.
3. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect power cord.
4. Turn on player with remote. Wait for player to finish loading and display 'no disc'.
5. Press enter on remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
6. Press 8, 4, 2, 6, 9 on the remote. (There will be no on-screen response.)
7. Press enter on the remote. Player will automatically shut off.
8. Turn player on.
9. Turn off.
10. Turn player on then off again.
11. Player is now region-free.

===========================================

1. Disconnect your player from its power source for 30
seconds
2. Power up the DVD
3. Press the "Power On" button on your remote control
4. Press the "Enter" button on your remote control
5. Press the numbers "8", "4", "2", "6", "9" on
your
remote control
6. Press "Enter" button
7. Power down and power up.

=============================================

1. Powerup your DVD unit.
2. Ensure there is no DVD in the tray which should be
closed.
3. Press SUBTITLE, REPEAT (or
just SUBTITLE or just REPEAT or MENU)and the 'no disc' may
disappear in left corner. On some builds you may have
to use the menu button.
4. If your player is a Region 1 machine, the sequence
of numbers to press is 2, 9, 3, 3, 4 and 9 :
If your player is a Region 2 machine, the sequence of
numbers to press is 5, 7, 5, 3, 8 and 9 : (you may
need to use 3, 8, 7, 6,
7)
If your player is a Region 3 machine, the sequence of
numbers to press is 5, 6, 7, 3, 2 and 9 :
If your player
is a Region 4 machine, the sequence of
numbers to press is 5, 6, 8, 8, 4 and 9 (for region 4
you may need to use 7,6,8,8,4):
If your player is a Region 5 machine, the sequence of
numbers to press is 5, 3, 8, 1, 4 and 9 :
If your player is a Region 6 machine, the sequence of
numbers to press is 2, 4, 4, 6, 2 and 9 :
5. The current region code may be seen in the left
corner.
6. Press 9 on your remote for region free
7. Press the
open/close button on the remote and leave
it open for a few seconds.
8. Power down then power up.

=================================================

My firmware version used to be 1.16,and initially I found some difficult to upgrade (downgrade in fact) to V0.98. I got it formatting my pen drive to FAT and loading only the fw file and playing it in USB mode.
After that I did the following:

===================================================

One of these solutions will work for you.

    You have tried all 4?

    What version is your firmware??

If it is a newer one, you will need to downgrade to v.98.

Newer firmware is not hacked (??hackable??) as of yet.

    Thanks!!

I have a samsung HT-Z120 it show a PROT error

Hi,

This error means that you are trying to play a region-protected disc that is not in the same region as your player.

It is possible to "hack" the region on your DVD player by following these instructions:

Hi i need the hack code for my region 1 Samsung HTZ310 dvd player. Anyone can help please?

My brother got this one as part of a deal and I hunted around and found that most if not all HT variants have the same region free hack:

1. Remove disc from tray.
2. Switch off player and unplug from mains.
3. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect mains.
9. turn off.
10. Turn player off then on again.
11. Player is now region-free.

Did this on a Samsung HT-Z310 and other than I think maybe the tray not opening when it said it worked fine and the player is now region free.
