Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

Dear tech, I have an Intel DG33TL motherboard. A couple of days ago, I attempted to instal my new All-in-Wonder PCIexpress video card (Diamond All-in-wonder HD Premium)and ran into this problem. I installed the card, hooked up the DVI to VGA adapter (that came with it), connected my monitor up to the adapter, fired up ther computer and it never went past a Intel screen showing the Intel logo and displaying the option to use F-2 to run the BIOS setting, except, pushing F-2, did not take me to the Bios, "nothing happened pushing F-2. I had to hold in the Start button to shut it down. After several attempts, I removed the video card, set everything back up to the way it it was before, and it fired up like normal. I took the card back and exchanged it for a replacement, I tried it again, and still nothing. I wanted to see if there is somthing else I should be doing to get this to work. Thanks for your help. Ron

If you have on-board then you will need to disable that first via the BIOS.

If that is the case hook your monitor to the on-board and try that as the display and if it shows up go direct to bios to make the needed changes.

Once you have done that you can restart then swap the lead over to the new card.

Also many dual head cards will require you to be lugged into the correct port for the first time.

I have a problem with my new engtx460 video card from nvidia. It causes freezes on welcome screen on the windows login.

1- you should change the windows.
every time you change a main part of your computer (like motherboard or CPU) , you should change windows or it will hang or crash.
2- run windows in safe mode.
then download and install a new Graphic Driver.

No video displayed after updating bios

Yes, it is true and common. Anytime you update bios, also find the method for resetting/undoing the bios update.
go to the mobo mfg website and find how to reset the bios. This usually involves removing the battery, and jumpering the reset.
The reset may not reset/undo the update, but simply reset the bios to defaults.
Depending on the bios type the restore may vary.

Try this reformat your pc again without using your video card, after installing Operating System (XP) instelled your motherboard software and then shut down your pc. Put the video card in its place and power on your pc, click add new program as it may pop-up after it detect your new hardware.Installed the video card software and restart your PC.

Monitor gets scrambled and computer will not respond

bad video card memory. try to change the video card. if it's built-in to the motherboard then it's a shared memory, disable it in the bios and put in a new video card. check if PCI, AGP or PCIexpress type of card. if problem persists, check also the memory card. hope this helps.

Unable to install XP sp2 on Intel D865GBF Motherboard

Maybe having trouble with a device, remove any pci or agp cards and usb devices, use built-in video until installed.

Set bios to defaults, make sure bios is latest version.

I have found this happens with a promise ultra-100tx2 and any nvidia video card.

May be a bad install cd, if you can boot it with a dos or win98 disk/CD, copy xp i386 folder to hard drive install from i386 folder on hdd by running winnt.exe

I have installed xpsp2 on about 10 d865gbf's and 2 days ago installed xp sp3 on one with no problems. may also be bad mobo.

About upgrade my graphics memory

Your Intel D915GLVG has a integrated PCIExpress built into the board. Your system memory is shared with the built in video card. This board's memory can handel up to 4GB of system memory which up to 512MB can be shared from your system memory. If you wanted to disable the integrated 915GL Express Chipset with Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900. You would be left with two PCI slots. Running a PCI video card is slower than a AGP card & two notches down from a PCIExpress card.
So in order for you to acheave what you want your going to have to increase your system memory. If you still have your manual the specifactions for your memory is on Pg. 9.
The link below is a list of supported memory from Intel.
http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d915glvg/sb/CS-027048.htm
If you no longer have your manual you download it from this link:
http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d915glvg/sb/c996091_en.pdf
Though you can check aound. I can suggest this mamory which will give you 2GB dual matched memory that is within your boards specifications. Listed at this link. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1075233&CatId=1352
You will still have two memory slots free to upgrade to a total of 4Gb at a later date. So please do not disable your current video card. Please use your manual when installing memory. Two Dimms go into certain slots on the D915GLVG board.
Enjoy!
