My radio works on my 2004 jeep grand Cherokee but the time and station don't light up do I need to replace the radio

any thing can be fixed.! (my job that, before retired)
the question (only) is time and money?
if the labor is more than a new upgraded radio.
why fix old.?
is the dash dimmer working, and all other lights on dash bright
the the radio has issues. (stock) if not stock the wires are bad behind radio. the dial wire.
does the radio work? and dial right, can you see the stations, with a flash light, ? then the back light is burned out.
if VFD display or LCD dead , big time $$$ fix.

on mine , 04 i put a new , media only head end.
am/fm , USB , flashcard, aux in, radio
and have micro usb there, very tiny with 4000 songs.
no more discs and radio head is very tiny.

My backlighting bulbs in the radio have burned out. How do I relace them?

YOU MORE LIKELY HAVE TO REMOVE RADIO TO GET TO THE BULBS.I WOULD LET THE DEALERSHIP FIX WHEN YOU REMOVE RADIO BY IT BEING PART OF THE ANTI THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM YOUR CAR WILL GO IN THEFT MODE KEEP CAR FROM STARTING.AND THE AIR BAG IN DASH.THIS IS DANGEROUS JOB TO FIX YOURSELF.

Radio in 2001 grand prix works but the light for the clock and radio stations does not display.

The problem is the light bulb behind the screen if you pull the radio out of the dash & pull the radio apart the bulb is right behind the screen with a little work you can get it out, and you can buy it at a pontiac/gm garage. Part # 16208443. Good Luck
