Sir the problem may be in the motherboard i/o controller to switch connection cause this does not seem the smps problem if you get smsc i/o on intel mainboard then check pin # 1- 10 and tell else see the datasheets of chips and search for the block diags of the motherboard and hope for best

They are lightly loaded and WILL take time to bleed off the charge on the caps.

Also switching power supplies MUST have a load on them or they MAY overvoltage.

How do I test main board, part number bn94-05656c?

Hi Mike
You test it by using it.......
There is no universal way of testing the main board.... It's actually a computer internally.
A technician knows about electronic components & how they work and what instruments he has in his tool box to assist with finding the problem. or "swap till you drop" for some technicians that just substitute pcb's till it works.
Does it turn ON?
Modern TV's use a switch mode power supply.
The switch mode power supply is the cause of many failures.

Why is our Logik Lindhob10 not switching on?

Have you tested the fuses with a multimeter? Sometimes they look ok when they,re not. Using the multimeter trace the wiring till you find where it stops, it may be a fusible link that's encased in a fibreglass sheath. Good luck and be very careful when it's live.

Is you oil at the correct level? When you drained your oil did you find any ferodo or metal remains in the oil? Are you getting 0 psi from the test ports? Is your inching valve ok (attached to the brake pedal)? Is your brakes jammed on? Check your half shafts 1 could be broken? Are the fwd/rev solenoids getting power when a gears selected? If its mechanical is the lever moving the spool?

Desktop will not start no response to power on button

1) you must open the desktop and look for any connector loose
2) test the power cord for open or replace
2a) Test the power button for open or defective
3) see if the switch behind is 110 or 220vca adjust it
4) Test the power supply and see if the fan are working, test the output for +5VDC, otherwise is faulty.

Brake lights dont work everything else does, i checked fuses and brake switch and all bulbs, and even the third brake works. what can be the problem.

Both bulbs are burned out, fuse and switch good but it could be a bad wire that sends the power to rear lights check at connection toward rear of car, use stick or put a block in front of brake pedal to activate if testing by yourself . also remove bulb and test with test light , no light , no power ! have light bad bulbs. Also if no power then start at socket and follow wire testing periodically till you find power and the repair wire. I always use a set of jumper cables hooked to the NEG side of battery and to the ground wire of test light to ensure i always have a good ground on my test light.

How can you tell if a Dell power supply for a PowerEdge 2900 is good? Should the lights at least indicate when power is connected even with the PS is removed from the machine? How do you best determine if...

You cannot test the power supply on the bench just by connecting it to the mains power. You need to know which pins on the connector to activate the power supply and you need to connect a load to the power leads.
The best way to test the power supply is to leave the power unit connected to the computer power up the computer and test a spare 4 wire power connector with a multi-meter. Leave the other power leads connected to the various drivers.
If computer's power LED should light up then test the voltages.
The Red and black wire should read 5 volts.
The Yellow and black wire should read 12 volts.
If the power LED does not light up, check the mains lead in another appliance to see if the mains lead is OK.
If the mains lead is OK then most likely the switch mode power supply has died.

Pc not switching on even after changing smps. even fan not switching on in smps

Dear,
You can test you smps simply by shorting any of the back wire and green wire. this will switch on your smps withour connecting with mother board. IF it the fan rotate, SMPS is ok.
If you need more trouble shooting on SMPS you have to measure the volate on each wire after powering on.

Try a few things for me OK? From what you typed, turned on the psu "the toggle switch on the psu", pc seemed to be starting up. I need you to keep the toggle switch on the power supply in the on position. Press and hold the start button on the PC case to shut it down. Give it a few seconds & power up by pressing the power switch on the case. Notice a differance? Next, unplug everything connected to the pc expect the monitor, mouse & keyboard. Try to boot. Still no? Remove the side of the case exposing the board. Turn the psu off by flipping the toggle switch on the psu, wait till the green light on the board goes out. Grab the Mb ( I know it's tight in there) and see if you can move the board in any direction. Not loose? Re-check all data & power connections for a solid connect. Re-check your case to Mb connections. Also check the PSU, there is a red slide switch it should be set to 115v. Post your findings..
