Question about Fujitsu Plasmavision P42HHA10 42 in. Television

1 Answer

Major or minor repair cost for this problem?

I'm encouraged but confused--previous guru response indicates repair cost to be close to $600, latest guru feed indicates "minor" repair cost.

If minor means anywhere close to $600, I'm afraid I can't this repair done--and it makes me really sad. The Fujitsu is by far head and shoulders above the newer plasmas I've seen on the market--HD 1080p included. Regardless, $600 repair bill is out of the question for me--not when I'm getting by on unemployment checks. To top it all off, Costco had a Panavision 42" 720p HD at $599. I can't believe my $4K Fujitsu is now a 42" paper weight. :(

Decisions, decisions....
I have pointed you in the right direction to fix your problem, you have been given the benefit of over 20 hours of my work on this type of display!
- if you do nothing else, get a quote from a competent technician to examine Main Digital pcb as per Service Bulletin PDP 0068-01.
You have a good chance of getting a successful result at a reasonable cost.

Good luck.

Check engine light is on 2002 dodge intrepid what does it mean

Can mean a multitude of things. On a modern car it is encouraging you to go to a mecahnic and plug in a diagnostic tool that will give you error codes pointing to the problem area. Some check engine indications are minor, some not. Consult your handbook for what indication indicates a severe problem (often a flashing check or a switch to limp mode)

FI FLASSHING

Typically the flashing indicator would suggest that a maintenance interval is due/missed. May be a minor issue with the fuel injector that is not affecting performance, but the ECU recognizes that not all is 100%. A code reader may provide more information. You local dealer should be able to at least tell you if it is major/minor at little to no cost if you've got a good relationship with the dealer. Your manual might also have a troubleshooting section in the back explaining the different indicators and their actions.

PO 846 2.4 Pressure Swith Sense Circuit

Hi Juanita, I'm glad to help! P0846 is a pressure switch in side the transmission and can run into major repair, but on the other hand can be a minor repair. For instance, if they only have to replace the switch or wiring, would not be as expensive as a total transmission overhaul. There is know way to tell you how expensive it would be with first diagnosing the problem to exactly what needs to be done. NOTE: You will need to have someone run the diagnostics and see how much it will cost. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Juanita.

Its flashing f1 on dash is it ok to drive?

Yes, you can still ride it. The F1 indicator is really Fi, Fuel Injection. The injection system sensors have found a fault. It could be a restricted air flow due to a dirty air filter, or a fuel mapping problem or anything in between. The minor faults will still let the bike run. Major faults will not allow the bike to even start. You will need to take the bike to a dealer and ask them to hook up a code reader to see what the sensors have found. Many minor items can be fixed by the rider. Major problems pretty much need to be handled by the shop. After finding out what needs to be done, you can then decide who will do the repairs. Purchase any repair parts at the dealer doing the code reading. Please rate my answer. Thanks!

Both fridge and freezer aren't getting cold enough in my Maytag Fridge

if they are both cold, but not cold enough, one of two likely scenarios, one minor, one major. the major one, you haev a sealed system leak of refrigerant, several hundred dollars to repair.

the minor, your condenser fan motor is not running, its job is to cool the compressor, if its not cooling the compressor, when the compressor gets too hot, it will shut itself down, while the fridge continues to run. when this happens, the unit seems fine first thing in the morning, but by evening it seems less fine...while everyone sleeping, doors have been closed, allowing unit to "catch up". replace fan motor.

How much to get a toshiba 42H81 convergence?

If it is a minor misalignment it can be corrected from the user menu or the service menu. If it is a major misalignment because of faulty components, typically it will cost at least $300. Don't be surprised if you get a quote of $600 or more.
If you are handy and can solder, you can do it yourself for about $50.

Lighting struck the apartment about a week ago, tv was plugged in when lighting struck apartment. Tv does not turn on anymore.

Best to take it to a repair centre as lightning damage can cause either minor fault such as an internal fuse blown or major problems that would make it uneconomical to repair. Ask for an estimate for the cost to repair.

GE Advantium Microwave section doesn't work.

The primary interlock switch on my Advantium has failed twice. The replacement part is available at: appliancepartspros.com part no. for my Advantium was AP2622452 and it cost $11.74 + $6.95 shipping.

For what it's worth, my nylon connector and wire covering were also scorched a bit but the last primary interlock switch lasted me for over a year.

Please note that I am not an expert at repairing appliances and that I assume no responsibility or liability for any attempt you may make to repair your own appliance.
