SOURCE: Akai LCT3785TA stereo vs. mono issue

Well the default is to obtain the channels signal. most channels over the world their audio output signal is mono. Rare tvs have the ability to save indivisual channel to their memmoty. Read the tv prospectus!!!

How to switch from stereo to mono jvc mxgt700

Most there is not a switch--set selects automatically and it will often be in mono if signal a little low or set does not detect it--Seen several where it said mono but was actually in Stereo.

I need a diagram showing how to connect the Digital Media Theater to the speakers and computer

i have found some posts on your speakers very nice anyway hope this helps
Just found an RCA to mono mini adapter and rca cable, plugged it in, and it works great. I notice a very slight difference in sound, for the better.

It's a digital cable, stereo/mono don't apply. It should be a single 75 ohm coaxial cable. Not a tip ring sleeve stereo cable. Any old RCA coax cable (with the appropriate 1/8 in. mini mono adapter) should work.
I attached a picture of the back, it is blurry, but you can at least see what it is. (top right jack)

When I use the headphones listening to TV, I get the background sound (eg music) clearly but the dialogue is very low and drowned out by the background music or ambient sounds

It's because the TV's audio is stereo and the dialogue is mono split between two channels. When dialogue hits your headphones the majority of the mono signal gets cancelled. Try a different set of headphones or watch true stereo channels... IE movie channels

Parker fly acoustic pickup quit. When the red button is depressed all my gain is gone from the magnetic pickups and from the acoustic pickup.

If you are using a mono (2 contact) guitar cable then the output from magnetic & piezo pick-ups should be mixed together. If you are using a stereo cable (3 contacts - tip, ring sleeve) then it will be stereo with one signal sent down each core of the cable with common/ground on the sleeve.
If you are using a stereo cable into a mono amp socket it is possible that a short is occurring, which would cut the signal. I would also check your cable for poor/ shorting connections. The signal level could also drop if the pick-ups were out of phase with each other.
For more information on balancing the levels between the pick-ups see the user's manual here

I have an spl 1440 watt amp model st2-1440 that i cant get to turn on without 15 volts to the remote wire and then it gets really hot really fast. Any ideas why or how to fix it?

Generally a battery puts out 14.1 volts to the amplifier. The only way your amp would get really hot really fast is if the amp was configured to run at to low of an ohm load.

That amps spec is to run at 2 ohm stereo. But I do see an option to get 1400 watts with 2 ohm mono, but that would require 2 dual 2 ohm subs using only one voice coil bridged to the amp. If you run both subs with both voice coils in parallel you'll get a 1 ohm load and that will overheat your amp.

Ohms are the units that impedance is measured with. You can kind of think of impedance as the measure of how hard the amp has to push to get current to flow. The lower the impedance, the more power will be output from your amp. Unfortunately, the amplifier circuit wants to push against something, so that if the impedance is too low, the amp can perform badly, and even overheat and burn out.

Hope this helps!

AKG Perception Microphone ony recording in mono but want stereo.

I have similar problems with inputing stereo sound. How do you know your mic port on the PC is set for stereo? What kind of a cable are you using? If it is an XLR, the connection is pure mono. Maybe you need a TRS cable, which looks like a 1/4 inch jack but is really stereo. Maybe you need a stereo mini. Usually a cable mismatch is the problem. Is your phantom power supply passing stereo? All the ones I have seen are mono. You may need two. Is your sound capture set for stereo? Are the input level controls set correctly for equal volume on left or right channel? I would try the mic with a regular amplifier to insure both channels are working. Then trace the signal from mic to power supply and power supply to computer.
