Authorized Repair Centers for Akai Flat Panel TV

My 1 year old Akai 32" flat panel suddenly lost its picture. There was a strong "electronic" odor and then the screen went blank.

When I tried to turn it back on, all I get is the blue AKAI flash screen, then the screen goes blank and back to standby.

I want to get it to a repair center authorized to do warranty repairs but can't find anything about Akai's authorized service centers. Do you know how I can locate one? Thank you.

I've just got off the phone with AKAI, for the fourth time today, they gave me numbers to call. Unfortunately the numbers they gave for supposed dealers who worked on their product will have nothing to do with them--no one wants to work on AKAI. My TV is 18 months old and out of warranty and when I asked their customer service I recieved flip "Pick up the yellow pages and start calling.

I also have an Akai 32" LCT3285TA model that shuts off less than an hour . This LCD model has only been with me for a year and half.

My main board is fried on my 32" LCD Flat panel tv model LCT32SHA

    after only 18 months.

The board is obsolete and AKAI does not "look up" repair centers for people with out warranties.

Poor product for sure. Poor service.

I have a television that is about a year old that when I turn it on shows the brand name then goes black. I get sound, but no picture. Now, when I try to turn it on nothing happens. I tried calling to find out where there is a service center, but no luck.

I also have an AKAI tv flat panel 32 inch and the screen went blank. I get sound and it will change channels, but no picture. When I took it in to a tv repair shop they informed me that the power board was out and no parts are available - it was junk and to throw it away. It cost me $30 to find out it was a piece of junk. No one want to work on them and when they do, they cannot get parts for them.

My AKAI flat screen will not turn on without several attempts. Sometimes it will take an hour and I have to manually turn on and off the power switch, or even unplug then plug it back in to get power. I am very frustrated!! The operating instructions are of no value, offering no solutions. Since the power indicator light is always unilluminated, does this mean the power is always on? If so, why doesn't anything happen? HELP!!! I will never purchase anything with the name AKAI again.

We are having the same problem. The television has sound, but no picture. I have been trying for the past several months to get it repaired, but no such luck. I have been on-line looking for a repair shop, but no one seems to work on Akai Televisions.

We all need help because we spent our good hard money for a television that does not work, can't get repaired and we can't get our money back.

My 32" Akai with DVD player has been nothing but a problem since day one. It is now one year old and I have no power. The red light is illuminated all the time but it does not turn on either by remote or manually. The first month I had the TV, the speakers blew and we over rode that issue by hooking it up to a surround sound system. I have been unable to find a service person as well and this TV was $800. I knew nothing about AKAI but the size was what we needed for our opening and it also had the DVD player. We purchased it at Sam's and they no longer carry Akai, obviously because they had problems with them. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE AN AKAI PRODUCT AGAIN THOUGH.

Our AKAI 32" LCD flat screen has lost its picture. The sound works great, but there is no picture to go along with it. We've only had it a year, if that. What phone number do I need to call to get this process going?

My 1 year old Akai 32" flat panel suddenly lost its picture. The DVD also does not work. The DVD just pops out of the TV after a few seconds.

When I tried to turn it back on, all I get is the blue AKAI flash screen, then the screen goes blank and back to blue screen.

I want to get it to a repair center authorized to do warranty repairs but can't find anything about Akai's authorized service centers in Chicago. Do you know how I can locate one? Thank you.

Worked fine then was hard to turn on one day and the next day would not turn on. I can not find an AKAI service center listed anywhere. I don't find any authorized service.

My AKAI 20" LCD TV was purchased two years ago and today the picture just went black. I can get the sound but no picture. I wish I had read this website before I brought this piece of ****. I have called the AKAI technical service line and left messages and I emailed them about the problem and I have not heard back from them.

Akai 27 inch-LCT 2721AD-Won't turn on. The TV was purchased at Costco and is 16 months old! I have contact the customer service department via email (as they instruct) and it has been a week and still no reply.

Stupid thing won't even turn on. No repair center in sight. It's not as if this is an inexpensive television either.

My 42 inch Akai is about 6 months old,, and is showing green where black should be..
BUt there is help for you all.. Call Verizon, sign up for their "Expert Care" program. it's $10.00 a month, and active after the third month.
with a $75.00 deductable. THey will fix or Replace (give you choice of three alternate models/brands).
Free services under this plan are adjustments, and One FREE remote per year!.
i recomend you sign up for this program, and after 90 days. call for service. They more than likely will replace your TV's.
This is what they did with mine..
ALSO.
it doesn't matter how old your TV is, the plan is applicable to all TV's in your household. So one plan, one monthly payment of $10.00, covers all the TV's you own!!

    Correction,

Verizon's Expert Care is active after 30 Days.. so after your first month you can place a claim!!.

there is also a plan for computers, Covers up to $2500,00 per year!! including accidental drops, spills, and any breakdown!!!

I just signed up for the Laptop coverage, This is the only thing i like about Verizon!!

My Akai plasma TV broke a few weeks ago. The HDMI port went out on it. I called the warranty comapny to repair it.. they called me back 2 days later to say that they no longer make the TV or the parts for it and that they'd send me my money back for the TV. I will never buy akai again, nor will I buy a TV without a warranty

Call the Consumer Affairs or file a complaint with them. When this many people having the same or similar complaints about a product, it becomes evident that it is a defective product. If we get enough people to post their complaints w/ CA, we probably could seek an attorney for a class action suit. So tell all you know who has problem with Akai tv's. Mine won't come on and it was purchased in 12/06. I started having problems with it after about a year and out of warranty. I have tried calling the service repair in my
state but never spoke with anyone on the phone.

I have one that is less than a year old. I might have had it six months and I still get a picture but it looks like scrambled porn. It is really terrible and since I can't find any info online I started tapping it like an old TV which works okay, but I am not okay with having to hit a TV that cost me $700 to get it to work. I think we got ripped off.

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I have a seven year old H&B LCD 32 tv...model AV32OAD. All of sudden it wont turn on. I'm getting a blinking green light so its getting a signal. Just not going on. What do i do?

At 7 years old your TV needs to be replaced. To repair a TV this old would cost as much as a new one and not give you as good a picture. If you can't afford a new TV look at refurbished models.

For the past couple days, my 32" samsung LCD will cut off by itself. It won't come back on unless I unplug it. A little while later the same thing occurs again. The TV is not even a year old yet. What...

Since it is still under Samsungs' 1 year warranty period, you can call 1-800-samsung and they will set up the repair with the closest authorized service center at no cost to you.

The power light suddenly went out. We Can't put

Doomed? Maybe... It sounds like your set may have suffered from a power supply or system board failure. The only real way to know for sure is to have it checked out by a reputable TV repair person.

If you check in your owner's manual there is a listing of authorized repair centers for your particular set. I would try to get it to one of those service centers since they have been factory trained to repair that brand of television and stand a much better chance of diagnosing the problem correctly the first time rather than someone else who can only replace parts until the unit starts working again....a pretty expensive route to go!

We have INSIGNIA 32 inch TV which two years old.Now suddenly it started to display white lines . But the inbuilt DVD picture is good. what would be the problem

Display distortion can be caused by close proximity of other electronic devices which interfere with broadcast signals. Try moving other electronics farther away. More details and tips can be found in the owner's manual.

Have a service center look at the unit - most likely the parts are not available to repair the television - call 800-726-4405 and request an exchange - but you will need a workorder from the service center - 8 - 12 week for the exchange to process.
