There are a couple of part numbers you will need. If you will go to and enter your model number. You will be able to see every part in your dryer. Now for whats wrong with it. This is a very common problem that I see at least 2 times during my business day. The parts you will need to check are as follows. Look at these parts on the diagram so that you can see where they are located inside your dryer

  • #7 AP3132867 Thermal Fuse
  • #9 Part #AP3094244 309 degree cut off plus a 250 degre high limit thermostat.
  • #15 Part #AP3131941 High Limit thermostat only.
Here is how to check these parts to see if they are good or bad:
#7 Thermal fuse/ Check to see if there is continuity between the two terminals on the part. If not, this part is bad. Replace. If it's good, check #9 the same way. Part # 9 comes with a part #15 also because if the part #9 is bad, it's because #15 had gone bad in the past and the dryer had been cycling off of #9 until it went out. Cutting the dryer heat off. One of the two parts #7 or #9 is bad. I hope this makes since to you. If your not able to test these parts, you can replace both and it will fix your dryer. Notice the prices are next to the part # on the web site. you can also order the parts from there, this is the best prices I have found. If I can help any more, just respond back. Good luck
Please rate solution.

Check the dryer twin breakers in the house electrical panel--push off, then on. If breakers hold, then try the dryer again. If it heats, you are good to go. If it trips the breakers again, there is a direct short in the dryer itself, usually in the heating element(s). The drum must be removed to access the element(s).

Whirlpool dryer model LGR6611LQ0 will not heat up

check for tripped breaker and proper voltage, next check to see if turns on if your getting air to the outside vent if ok the you need to open the unit up (unplug it FIRST) your be looking for the thermal fuse and or the cutoffs these will be attached to the blower housing assy ohm them out and also if electrical one check the heating element as well most cases this will solve your problems

No heat

Try testing the voltage across both fuses. The time you swapped fuses, and the motor ran without heat indicates to me that one of your hot leads is not getting voltage. On a three wire system, you should have two 110v leads and a common. Make sure that the cord is connected properly, and the same for the receptacle that you plug into. Test the receptacle as well for proper voltage and a good common ground.
Hope that this helps. Please repost if necessary.....Operators are standing by......!

Dryer won't dry

Without a meter there is not much you can do but a couple things to try , 1st turn the breaker off , when turning it back on push the breaker switch firmly in toward the panel then check for heat . the breaker may be running only half power and not supplying the heater [bad breaker] , the next thing is the temp. fuse on the heating element case. take the ;arge back panel off of the unit , you should see the element case on the right , it should have 4-6 red wires going to it , the fuse is located at the top of the case , remove the 2 red wires from it and slide them together then use electrical tape to tape them carefully power unit back up and test for heat , if it is working now you most likely have an exhaust problem , check the airflow where unit exhaust. let me know if you have any other questions.

Dryer will not heat and will not turn off at the end of the cycle

I had the same problem with my whirlpool LER5636. It was a power problem. My circuit breaker was fried (one side delivered 120v the other 26v). The dryer itself was fine. Check the breaker, the dryer outlet, and the connections where the dryer cord enters the dryer.
I replaced the breaker and all was well.
Good Luck.

Whirlpool dryer is not drying

the heater could be bad but you need a volt tester to check there are thermastats and thermal fuses that can stop the heat as well as the breaker the unit may run but not heat if one side of the breaker is triped or bad
