Question about Whirlpool Ovens

Cannot get over to unlock. It will when hit cancel but as soon as turn on oven or broil it goen to loc again.

Go to your electrical panel and turn off the oven by either throwing the breaker or removing the fuse. leave it off for two full minutes. Then turn the power back on.

if that does not clear the lock go through the entire clean cycle again by setting the starting and ending time and cleaning the oven.

I was able to clear the locked door message, and get over working following steps above, but cannot get the lock mechanism to release, and therefore cannot close the door

Range - "LOC DOOR" flashes in the display

If "LOC DOOR" is flashing in the display of your range or oven, and the self-clean cycle has not been selected, follow the steps below to reset your control:

Motorized Switch
    1. With the door open, locate the door jamb switch on the face of the oven. It will look like a small black post or dowel.
    2. Push it in until the oven cavity light goes off, indicating that the oven believes the door is closed.
    3. While you hold the door jamb switch in this position, complete the following steps.
    4. Press the Clean pad, wait 10 seconds.
    5. When the cycle initiates, press the clear/off or cancel pad immediately to cancel it.
    6. Wait 10 seconds for the display to clear.
    7. The door should unlock and there should not be a need for service.
Manual Switch
    1. Press the Clean pad.
    2. Close the door.
    3. Slide the latch to lock the door.
    4. Hit the cancel button immediately.
    5. Unlock the door.

The oven is stuck at LOC.


The locking motor has gone bad on the range. Common for this to happen after self clean. You will have to replace or have the lock assembly replaced for the stove to work again

Digital oven will not turn on, I press bake/broil it reads ''Loc''


Look on the control panel for an icon that looks like a padlock near one of the buttons. Hold that button down until it beeps and that should unlock the panel.

I cant get my oven to unlock its door


you will needto let it go through the cleaning process to comeplete the cycle for the door to unlock,thats about the only way its going to unlock now

Tried to use broil or bake on my Kenmore electic oven model 40881, press broil and after a few seconds a code of F4 comes on the screen and the tone sounds, I hit cancel and tone goes off. Can't use


I used what Charlie recommended ...” post-it” as insulation
And works PERFECTLY….
I have a Kenmore oven Clock…( built in the wall)

Oven door won't unlock


try hitting self clean again give it a few seconds for the eoc to think the door is locking then hit stop/clear or cancel let me know if this helps if not i can call ge tech after holidays
