I've tried resetting my router with the same model. Some say it's belly up. But the router is 4 months old. I don't have any idea. My problem started when i had my server reformat. The internet interruption started. Would you believe my internet shop is closed for 2 Months. Losing a lot of money.

If you forgot your password and/or want to reset the router back to the default settings:

Step 1 Power the unit off by unplugging its power adapter.

Step 2 Insert a paper clip in to the reset pinhole. Press and hold the reset button with light pressure.

Step 3 Power the device back on by plugging it in. Continue to hold the reset button.

Step 4 Watch the lights on the front of the gateway. The M1 & M2 should come on solid. When the M1 & M2 begin to blink slowly, release the reset button.

The unit will reboot itself and should be at factory defaults. If the M1 light is not blinking about once per second, recycle the power on the gateway.

If the M1 & M2 continue to blink rapidly, you held the reset button for too long. Power the device off and repeat the reset procedure.

The default username for our routers is admin. The password is blank. If your router asks only for a password, use admin (lower-case). The default IP address is 192.168.0.1.
BEST OF LUCK

You may held the reset button too long, try again:

How to reset D-Link router to the Factory Default Settings

In general, to reset the D-Link to the Factory Default Settings, please follow these steps:

1. Turn off the router

2. Locate the Reset button on the back of the router.

3. Use a paper clip to press the Reset button and power on.

4. Hold for about 5 seconds (don't hold too long) and then release. (Or, release when M1 and M2 flash at the same time.)

5. After you have completed the above steps, the router will be reset to the factory default settings

Can't access D-link DI-614+ as admin

Direct from the D-Link FAQ's
This reset procedure applies to the following devices:
DI-704  DI-704P  DI-713  DI-713P  DI-714P+  DI-804HV  DI-808HV
  • Step 1 Power the unit off by unplugging its power adapter.
  • Step 2 Insert a paper clip in to the reset pinhole. Press and hold the reset button with light pressure.
  • Step 3 Power the device back on by plugging it in. Continue to hold the reset button.
  • Step 4 Watch the lights on the front of the gateway.
The default IP address is 192.168.0.1. The default username for our routers is admin. The password is blank. If your router asks only for a password, use admin (lower-case).
The following reset procedure will completely restore the default settings on your D-Link device including your password. This procedure applies to the DI-514, DI-524, DI-604, DI-614+, DI-624, DI-754, DI-764, DI-774, DI-784, DI-804V, DWL-700AP, DWL-800AP+, DWL-900AP+, DWL-1000AP+, DWL-2000AP, DWL-2100AP, DWL-6000AP, DWL-7000AP, and DWL-7100AP.
  • Step 1 Locate the reset pinhole on the back of the unit.
  • Step 2 With the unit powered on, press and hold the Reset button.
  • Step 3 Hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds.
  • Step 4 Release the Reset button.
  • Step 5 The unit will reboot. Allow 20-30 seconds before reconnecting.
  • Step 6 The device is now at factory defaults.
Note: Do not recycle power during the reset procedure.
The default user name for most D-Link devices is admin and the password is left blank.
When it says hold for about 10 seconds, don't hold for more than ten seconds or the procedure will likely fail, if ten seconds doesn't work try 5 seconds.
P.S.: If this information was helpful, please rate this solution.

D-Link Vpn Router model DI-804HV

Can you tell me the setup with your router? It should be Internet->Modem->Router->Computer If that's setup properly (the wires in the right spots) then go to the gateway IP of the router...it might be something like "192.168.0.100 "so you put that in your internet browser. The default user is "admin" with no password. Make sure to run the "Wizard" while on that page and after that go to the "Status" page and check to see if the WAN connection is connected properly.

Problem with a 704 p router

to do a hard reset, hold for about 5 seconds (don?t hold too long) and then release. (Or, release when M1 and M2 flash at the same time.) The M1 amber light flashing means that the system is active. Go to your routers settings by typing 192.168.0.1 and make sure that enable DHCP is showing and that the network adapter cards in your pc's are set to obtain an ip address automatically, to do this start>control panel>network connections, then on your network adapter ensure it says enabled, if so right click on it and select properties, go to TCP/IP line and click properties and make sure obtain ip address automatically is ticked, ok it and restart pc and see if you get a connection.
