Question about Hamat Richmond Pull-Out Kitchen Faucet with Soft Touch Head ....

I have a kitchen faucet that keeps getting plugged

We are on a well and seems like there is too much sediment in our water. It plugs all the time anymore. I wonder if anyone makes a head that screws on to a stainless fitting. The fitting goes over the head.

You could put a sediment trap at the incoming water line to greatly reduce sediment in your plumbing system. If you cannot find one, perhaps I can make one for you

You could use a whole house water filter with a sediment filter in it. they are available at home depot.

WATER PRESSURE

Seems like you have a hard water problem that has clogged up your faucet with sediment. You will need to replace the faucet, or take it off and try soaking it in vinegar water for a few hours, then boiling it. This may remove the sediment within the faucet.

Heater takes more than 1 minute to get water to kit faucet , then temp fluctuates

1) Guesses: Sounds like a bad single-handled faucet cartridge, or low water flow at faucet, or clogged water filter.
Replace faucet cartridge, clean the aerator, and/or clean sediment out of pipes below sink, and clean water filter at tankless unit each month.

2) For exact measure of problem:
Typical faucet can have 2 gallon per minute flow rate.
2 gpm flow rate means faucet fills 1 gallon container in 30 seconds. Test faucet using 1 gallon container and a cooking timer to get flow rate.
Clean aerator to improve flow rate. Compare kitchen flow rate with other faucets in home.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Low-hot-water-pressure.html

Most homes have 1/2" diameter pipe running to kitchen faucet.
100 feet of 1/2" diameter pipe holds 1.2 gallons of water. This assumes no sediment build-up inside pipes.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-recirculation-system.html

Assuming only hot is turned on: If faucet is 100 feet away from water heater, and pipe diameter is unobstructed 1/2" diameter, and faucet has 2 gallon per minute water flow, then hot water should arrive in 36 seconds.
50 feet away, and hot water should arrive in 18 seconds.

If kitchen has single handled faucet, and the handle is raised in the middle, then equal amounts of hot and cold water are drawn at same time. This doubles amount of time for hot water to arrive.

If single handle faucet has a bad cartridge, then faucet can have crossover.
Crossover means that cold water can enter the faucet even if faucet is turned to hot.
Bad single-handled faucet cartridge can delay or stop the arrival of hot water.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Crossover.html

Tankless require maintenance including cleaning combustion parts yearly, de-lime heat exchanger frequently, and clean water filter each month.

New moen kitchen single handle. Worked for one full day. Now no water pressure.

Unthread end of faucet (aerator) where the water comes out into sink, under the aerator is a screen & a plastic valve. It has sediment & rust which will disrupt the flow & pressure.Careful not to flush it down the drain. Tip upside down, while holding it together with finger. Flush it under the faucet. It is not uncommon to get plugged up initialy because of the new installation.

Slow water flow

first try and clean the air ratter where the water comes out the faucet it is a screen that un screws off the tip of the faucet. these can get clogged up over time from sediment and particles in the water. if the screen is fine then you can try and replace the supply lines to the faucet if that still doesn't fix it then you will need to replace the faucet because it has clogged up from minerals and particles in the water and there is no way to clean out the inside of the faucet.

I installed A new kitchen faucet and when I turned the water on I got all this black stuff out of it and then it all but quit running. The sprayer works fine but the faucet doesn't.

Unscrew end of faucet where water comes out. It is probably plugged. They put extra screens in it, so remove some of them, turn on before replacing and let water run to get out remainder of sediment.

Faucet is leaking up from the sleeve. I remove the screw under the cap, but the handle mechanism does not come off. Do I force it? Pry it? Probably held by hard water sediment.

If it's the handle and u can't get it off b/c of sediment then pour hot water on the handle and gently pry off. If that doesn't work then get a handle puller from a plumbing supply store

FF-1800 HAS LOW HOT WATER PRESSURE AND DELAYED TIME TO GET HOT

Sometimes there is a lot of sediment released into the pipes (particularly hot water) when water lines are shut down and restarted as part of a remodel process.

Particularly with a pressure balanced faucet this can create all types of symptoms including those you describe...

Before you go to any expensive lengths, check any intake screens or strainers, both on the faucet and in the other components of the system. A lot of the time this will solve the problem...
